I got my Merida 1000 at Osmans for under R10k, you can also get the latest Tread magazine , which has a good review on the 1000.They also comment on the fork. All in all , a good buy.

Hi, I had to choose between the 800 and 1000 2 weeks ago and did my homework , and ended up buying the 1000 for R2000 extra , but it was worth is, very happy with my choice. go check and compare the 800 and 1000 on the merida website.The big diff is the frame witch is a bit lighter , but there are some other differences. But is the amount diff is to high , the 800 is also a good buy, the prices have come down.
