Event Name: The Bridgestone Route 66 MTB Experience 2013 When: 15 February 2013 - 17 February 2013 Where: Cradle of Humankind, Gauteng Category: MTB Back for the third time by popular demand, here’s something that will definitely excite you - The Bridgestone Route 66 MTB Experience. The Bridgestone Route 66 MTB Experience is a challenging three-day MTB event starting on Friday 15th of February and finishing on Sunday the 17th of February 2013. Previously known as The Bridgestone Route 69 MTB Experience, we have decided that our event is up there with some of the top names and definitely one of the top routes in SA. Hence the name change to The Bridgestone Route 66 MTB Experience. Starting in the heart of The Cradle of Humankind and finishing at Kloofzicht Lodge also in The Cradle, some three days later, this is the ride to do if you’ve committed to doing one or more of the big mountain biking events in 2013 - Epic, Joburg2C or Sani2C. This must be part of your 2013 training programme. In true Leverage Corporation fashion, this will be a ride where you will be challenged; it will be a ride which you will enjoy; and it will be a fantastic event which is well organized and run. Following last year’s success, there will again be three races on offer, namely: The Bridgestone Route 66 MTB Experience – 3 day event The Bridgestone Route 66 MTB Weekend Experience – 2 day event The Bridgestone Route 66 MTB Mini Experience – 1 day event Here’s what the route entails: Day 1: An 80km “warm up” starting in the heart of The Cradle of Humankind and taking you through to Hartebeespoort to the Van Gaalen’s Cheese Farm - home of The Magalies Adventure. Day 2: Ok, so now you’re warmed up, get ready for a tough and challenging 70km route kicking off from Van Gaalen’s. You’ll need to negotiate more than a couple “men from the boys” climbs before reaching Maropeng in the Cradle of Humankind. Day 3: Then get ready for the home strip with a final 60km burst from Maropeng to the luxurious 5 Star Kloofzicht Lodge in Muldersdrift. 200 km later - you’re now ready for that 5 star spoil. Kick back and enjoy a leisurely lunch, compliments of us, while you relax at the pool and soak up the views in the relaxing company of family and friends. Got your interest? Good!   4. Hi I was a lucky rider to get a substitution entry for the Sani2c Race. Unfortunately the rider I took over from was a little bigger than I am. I managed to swap the Saloman Hard shell jacket and the short sleave wind jammer for small ones but couldn't get a smaller AcaJoe hoody. I am currently sitting with a XXL Jacket and well I need a medium... I would really like to get a jacket that fits as it is a awesome one. Please let me know if any one has one or if they know of some one who has. Please feel free to use this topic if you are in the same situation and would like to swap out your Sani2c kit. Other than the clothing problem, I had an awesome ride and can't wait to hit those trails again next year, maybe in the Joburg2c 2013.

Hi Bradwentzel Yes, there will be shuttle services taking riders back to the start venue for those riders who left their vehicles at the start or cannot arrange transport to collect them from the finish area. "A Special What’s Included Following numerous requests, we will be introducing a shuttle service, complements of Europcar, where you will be shuttled back to the starting point on each day to collect your car. We will offer you a safe and secure facility to store your bike overnight at Van Gaalen’s or at Maropeng." I hope this clears things up.
