The event was affectionately named after the “Monster”, which is a 9km gruelling climb up the northern slope of the Magaliesberg, which riders of the 80km route encounter! The Magalies Monster gives riders the opportunity to experience the real beauty of the Magaliesberg Mountains with amazing rock formations and pristine vegetation as well as magnificent views of the Buffelspoort Valley. Riders can expect a real challenge as the terrain of the area lends itself to tough and technical riding!
