I am writing this post out of my Bloemfontein hospital bed - I was knocked down by a drunken driver (hit and run) on Saturday. My injuries are extensive (broken pelvis in 3 places, lung contusion and 2 broken lumbar vertebra). Fortunately the will damage will not be permanent. The driver was caught later in the day. Despite being intoxicated, he also had no drivers license!!. What infuriates me the MOST, is that he was set free that same day!! What is becoming of this wonderful country? I appointed a lawyer to take up this matter further as it is getting ridiculous! unfortunately a single case will not do anything for awareness.
