  1. Thoroughly enjoyed this event. As I said this is the third time I have done it and it has been a blast since day one. Was an extreme challenge the first try but is getting better each year.
  2. Have entered looking forward to it. Will be my third run at it.
  3. Wow wow wow! Congrats to the race organisers for an awesome day. I thouroughly enjoyed my ride today, be it only a 20km, but I had no issues with bottlenecks this year and the course was awesome. Well done guys. Don't know if I posted this in the correct place or not ...
  4. [/img][/img] Beautiful end to a nice 16k training ride. I think I am ready for the race Saturday. [emoji5]
  5. Mine just came through for the MTB via sms. A @ 08h20.
  6. I have entered too. This will be my fourth race I think. Lost my MTB virginity on this race, never looked back. Bottlenecks are sometimes a pain but otherwise and awesome event.
  7. I think I have entered that event. 19th April I believe?
  8. So no MTB fellows on the Hub that reside in Nigel?
  9. Thanks Wayne, But I would never expect someone to ride out costly petrol just for me . But if you are willing to try out some trails here in Nigel I would be flattered.
  10. Hi Guys, Not entirely sure if I am in the right group here, but I was wondering if there are any recreational mtb cyclists in the Nigel area who would be willing to include a novice cyclists in there group. I don't know what info to give, but I average about 17 to 18km/h on a 10km route. I try and cycle for 30 minutes three times a week in the morning dependant on work requirments. And I try and get in a 25 - 30km run in on a Saturday. I am just looking for someone who enjoys the sport but not trying to train for the cape epic or something. So if there are any peeps out there let me know. Thank You,
  11. Just want to say I had an awesome time at my first 94.7 MTB challenge. I did the 30km race and what a joy. It was extremely challenging but I enjoyed it thouroughly. Extremely well organised. I especially liked the cold face cloth at the end . Well done to the organisers will definatly do it again next year.
  12. Thanks guys. So I just need to get the time in the saddle. At least its summer so I should be able to wake up a bit earlier to try and get more in.
  13. Hey guys, I am farely still a newbie in MTB'ing. My furthest distance cycled so far is 34km in 2:31:30. I am currently managing 8km a morning (this is all the time I can muster at the moment, trying to squeeze in some more where I can) and my average speed is floating at around 18-19km/h. What I want to know, and I know I am still far from this goal, is what do I need to aim for to know that I am ready to start tackling stage races (my eventual goal is to do the Jo'burg to Sea). How should look at training and what benchmark do I need to aim for (average speed wise, 100km a day, etc). Your valued advice would be greatly welcome. Regards, Jan.
