  1. Got substitute entries for my wife and I for CTCT. But despite noting this on consent documents sent, we were seeded sepatately. She in 3F and I in 1A. Can I just fall back and start with her in 3F with a tandem? Or is there seeded specific tandem categories. I can only see a racing tandem category on website. Thanks!
  2. Great week on the bike in the Amateur Team Competion! Team time trial one of the highlights of the week and fantastic how some of the guys in my team I did not know well before the Tour became great mates after one week on the bike... Yes,the timing was an issue. But dont regret doing the Tour and will definitely be back next year. Great value for money considering all the goodies and all the people/marshalls involved to ensure routes were safe and marked.
  3. Hi All, I am new to the area and due to move to Century City soon to work and live. Keen to join any local group rides from CC (pref before work)- be it road or mtb. Cheers
  4. Hi, Bought a Thule Bike Rack in the UK which I brought back to SA. However, now realized that the Bike Rack has a 13pin socket and the Towbar only has 7 pin socket... Some searching reveals I need a Thule 9906 adapter...Being Thule I would assume to expensive - cant seem to find SA pricing on them. Anyone else had the same problem and found any other alternative adapters in the Cape area that could work? Many thanks
  5. Cpt armpies - I currently have Cube Stereo 140mm (26er though).. I was gonna sell it - thinking there would not be places suitable to ride it in the Cape... Clearly not.. Excuse the ignorance... Where do you recommend riding in the Cape where more travel would be useful? Thanks
  6. Hi Guys, Moving back to SA from the UK at the end of the year and looking at buying a new FS before I come back.. Its been 7 years since I had done a mtb race in SA... Currently looking at the following two bikes 110mm Alu vs 100mm Carbon Canyons.. Not necessarily need advice on the brand but more the type of bike suited for SA... https://www.canyon.c...ike.html?b=3235 https://www.canyon.c...ike.html?b=3185 - Looking for a good for multiday stage bike - specifically for races such as W2W, Epic, and others in the Western Cape area.. - Would not class myself as a Top 100 Epic finisher - but have (can) finish the Argus in sub 3 ( Sorry bringing road cycling in but my only point of reference). So at the same price point looking at a good spec heavier (12.1kg) Alu bike vs lower spec lighter (11.25kg) carbon version. 850g is not much agreed - though the geometry and travel is different.. Is a 100mm travel bike more than sufficient - or would that extra 10mm and slacker geometry be good to have... Appreciate there would possibly not be many Canyons around - but for example is the Spez Camber more popular than the Spez Epic at such races? Appreciate some advice as to which bike would theoretically be better for South Africa? Many thanks
