  1. 102km Race 15 minutes delayed. Entrants stucked in traffic.
  2. Does anyone know what the substitution procedure is? Was initially not going to ride. Then regret. Then I got an entry
  3. I think some people get stuck between a rock or two and a hard place.????????????
  4. Now that was a tough race owing to the weather conditions. Truly a memorable first Apple Blossom. I have to admit rocking up at the venue this morning...seeing the strength of the wind and knowing that it was going to rain...I wanted to get back in the car and head home. My daughter didn't make it easy also. She told me it is to terrible to ride and we should go back. At one point out of sheer misery I tucked my head down and missed a turn off. Thank you to my fellow participants that shouted me back. Despite the weather conditions I enjoyed the route. Well done to the organisers. I had a blast and at the end the weather made the race more interesting. Also well done to my fellow riders who persevered to the end.
  5. Not. I see on the website the only registration they have is the morning before at 06:30.
  6. Hahahahahaha...I wish I was a racing snake. Truth be told, everyone pass me on the uphill. See you on the route.
  7. Very scenic...beautiful...part of the world. Truly an adventure trail. Well done to the organisers. It was an event marked with excellence. Well at least to me. It was one tough 63 km race! Tough on the mind...tough on the body and tough on the bike. It was my first time and although I was told that it is technical and mostly single track, I didn't expect what I experienced. Still I live to tell the tale. Saw many falls, near falls as handle bars clip rocks and boulders. Fortunately no injuries to the unlucky once I witnessed going down. Admittedly, battling up the last climb I started to wonder "if mountain biking is really for me or not...it is too expensive...my body wont take this abuse much longer...I am spending too much time away from the important stuff in life...perhaps I should stick to road biking and running...maybe I such take up dancing" Now being out of that furnace of suffering, I am silently chuckling "that was such a hilariously ridiculous thought." I could not enjoy the last descent as fatigue claimed all my focus, enthusiasm and fun. Now that the memory of the pain, torment and suffering is slowly loosening its grip, I am hoping that come next year I would be able to line up at that start again.
  8. What a test of endurance! It was tough.
  9. That was an epic 70km! Had a tumble. I can't remember it.As I was cycling I wondered why my face and jaw was hurting,my knee's skin scraped off...and...why is my right forearm hurting intolerably with every small bump? That was weird? I went out there with one goal, given my fitness level...and that was to finish it. Finish it I did. To the organisers, marshals, volunteers and fellow riders...thank you for this adventure.
