  3. I am NOT at all up with the mx world...google was my friend, but actually walking into the local shop opened my eyes, here is just some that I found instantly, googled "mx gloves" I will have to go check the brand I bought, it is a Chinese brand but I can not be any happier with them, light, breathable, comfy and CHEAP ....even looks nice. https://www.go-mx.co.za/collections/gloves https://www.foxracing.co.za/men/mtb/gloves/ https://mcauto.co.za/collections/mx-gloves
  4. best advise ever, I was amazed by what you find at the motorbike shops, got a pair at our local shop for something like R120, as well as some very nice "buffs" for R60! have a look on the mx web sites, most actually have a mtb menu
  5. I have to share something, I walked into Sportman's Warehouse about 2 weeks ago and as always had a browse at the cycling goodies, took a set of these. I have used ESI extra chunky for a few years and had no real issues, I do prefer bigger diameter grips, these new cheap ones is awesome nice and chunky and very comfortable...so just a suggestion....that won't break the bank even if it is just to try out. https://www.sportsmanswarehouse.co.za/product/v-grip-foam-lock-grip/4275
  6. A fellow hubber, SAN FRANCISCO…he was extremely helpful and I believe he has more!
  7. some new bottle cages and handlebar tape for my project bike, stripped the paint...loving the new look, now I think some deep sections to complete the look

  9. So far, 1 ride, its no different..if not better, no climbing done yet though, the pedal stroke feels smooth and natural. it is 34, and at the back...11-34 (9 speed)
  10. it is official, I have moved over to the OVAL side...
  11. upgade...I hope..changed to oval chainring
  12. sorry for that, all her specs.... 2012 Altitude 970 1x9 XT dual shifters (hated by most, loved so much by me I went from 10 speed to 9 to keep them) XT rd, Xt brakes with 180mm XT rotors (one of the changes I want to make, just for "pimping" purposes) 29" Crank Brothers Iodine 3 wheels 34 single Kitted chain ring (local manufacturer, love it) shock & fork as stock FOX float fork is 34mm, both 120mm travel Easton EA 90 riser bar and EA 70 seat post & stem, also on my "to pimp" list.. lovely ride, and actually surprisingly fast and super capable!
