  1. Contact me via bikehub or email please.
  2. Two bikes were stolen in early hours of this morning in Grassy Park/Lotus River. It's a black with green Vitus with mavic wheels. Also and older red avalanche. Please be on the lookout for these bikes.
  3. I wonder if you think that the wind on chappies would be seen as bull**** weather conditions as well. I'm sure that several people would've been blown over that cliffs if they alone couldn't handled the foreshore winds. I think it was a good call.
  4. Absolutely right patch. Too much hatred. Ppl don't have an outlet for their anger/frustrations/hatred or whatever locked up anti social feelings they have, that it eventually takes root in a violent outburst, which is inexcusable no matter how they are going to try an explain it away. S.A. is still a long way away from where ppl in general can do things without complete fear of be repoach by others based on hatred/anger/etc. Social evils in our society is signs of a time bomb ticking to go off.if proper steps will be taken agianst these "@$$&@# then it will send out a message that will "correct" these acts. If its just a slap on the wrists then it will just get worse and worse. Hope the authorities take note before someone dies.
  5. Seems that track bikes is being targeted at the drome. Today another track bike Marcello with ffwd deep section wheels was also stolen.
  6. the whole issue with fraud/scammers/unscrupulous sellers is a very fine lined issue due to the nature of the transactions we as hubbers have to deal with. The bigger question is whether the item is still going to be worth buying when a 3rd party besides the normal transportation costs is included? Only when an item's value will be over a certain amount will I bring in the 3rd party. also the item's value is really worthwhile bringing from outside my local territory will I consider this type of transaction and effort. Otherwise I will wait for a reasonably priced item which is nearer to me. Dealing direct with sellers is better but sometimes yes also riskier. We need to be very careful when we deal with people in any way, whether it's in reality, telephonic or via social networks. But ultimately yes this idea is a workable solution. Crooks will always be around to find a different way of even using this a method of conning us. They find a way. So my opinion with these type of transactions? "asshole don't con me cos i will hunt you down", lol. Nah, just joking, if I feel uncomfortable about a buy/sale I just CANCEL it. I don't reply or respond to the person. Yes maybe rude or unprofessional but hell my money/goods is safe in my keeps.
  7. I'm more and more convinced via these punks modus operandi that there are more than one syndicate running rife here in the western cape. No guys will operate in the same area on more than one occasion. Also the fact that certain high end bikes seem to be targeted and not the bottom ranged bikes. My plans for cycling will change to rather have a second steel framed bike for everyday cycling around town and keep my carbon for races alone. No use riding on your expensive frames so these Aholes can benefit or even injure/kill us. Stoffie it's unacceptable that you had to go through this trauma and also that you struggled to get assistance from the public and police. Yes we need to find a way to combat these type of incidents. Demarcation of certain high spots? Carrying a high pitch whistle to attract surrounding attention? Cycle in groups of at least four? Tazers(not my favourite option) simply because violence begets violence. Any kind of jacking needs to be dealt with. It's just not RIGHT. WE HAVE THE RIGHT TO RIDE AND ENJOY OUR BIKES.
  8. Agreed nonky, very few others sports can come close to the drive, determination, resilience (toughness) of many a cyclist. Cancellara's crash is one of the worst I've seen with him tumbling through the air. Imagine being able to eventually stand up, get on a bike and later completing the stage with that damage and bruised body? My respect to a worthy man. Tough as nails.
  9. Think this miniature vehicle tracking device is a brilliant idea, especially as there is no monthly fees on them. Insert it inside your frame and secure with double sided tape or something. Definitely will scare some of these idiots and or possible syndicates. Hell we don't even need TRACKER lol

  12. You can also make a loan against your goods for a certain time period. However if you don't collect it then goes out on the floor. If it's up for public viewing then it's for sale. So if anyone has questions to ask they they can go to the back area where items are booked in and then you can ask if the "owner" has left proof of purchase and who the previous owner was if you have proof of a claim against that items. So if it's stolen then hellllll go claim your bike. Cash crusaders take a copy of all Ids of people who sell their goods incase it's stolen. Cash crusaders is legit. It's some of the sellers that's not legit.

    ppa road membership????

Well let's hope some member of ppa can give us an answer? I speak under huge correction based on a little knowledge. Ppa in it's efforts is trying to build the cycling sport amongst communities and schools. Ppa helps to raise funds for different organisations and clubs. Clubs being social cycling or racing clubs, which thereby bring many people including development riders into the sport. Some of these clubs/organisation then get ppa assistance in hosting race events whereby some(not all) development riders get a reduced entry fee per race. These entry fees also gets limited to a certain number per club, which is understandable, so that it don't become a free for all I guess. Some clubs get funding if they promote cycling at schools if my understanding is correct. The funding is suppose to be spent at that school to promote or start cycling and thus enhance the club's membership numbers which will bring more people to the ppa/sport??? How they help the organisations I have no knowledge of. As said before, i speak under correction. Anyone else with better knowledge? Please?

    ppa road membership????

Agreed that it service other community projects and as well as in partnership with other charity/fund raising organisations. That is not the point. The point I tried to make is there is so few races. I'm sure there are many guys that's involved in many a community projects because life is about not just 'me/you" but "us". I want more events/races and ppa can deliver this or am I wrong. It's just so few that's all I'm thinking????
