  1. I am hoping you gents can help me. I still cannot get my cadence reading to display as i am riding. I managed to setup the sensor under the speedcadence sensor settings (The only setting that picked up the ID of the sensor). When i start recording, the speed, hr, time, etc works well but the cadence just does not show any reading... When i pass the pedal over the sensor i do hear a kinda click noise. I think this is normal. And btw, the sensor is set to cadence underneath the battery. What else could it be? Any help would be appreciated.
  2. Yip. Everything is there. Computer, Heart Rate monitor, Cadence sensor, USB cable and bike mount.

  7. There was mixed advice on the postings... initially i was cool with it being cosmetic but then "The Drongo" posted a comment and made me weiry... just needed a second opinion... thanks for all the advice tho... appreciate it!
  8. Sent Cape Cycle Systems an email with the pics and they are happy to say that its merely cosmetic. Its very far from the dropout point as well. With this confirmation, i bought some putty and filled the hole. Just needs a little spray paint and we sorted.... Will post pics!
  9. Hahahahhaha..... gonna send the pics to Cape Cycles and take it from there.
  10. Chillax man.... i am just adding fuel to the fire!!! :nuke: :nuke:

  13. Hi all, I had an accident with a friend and it wasn’t even a hard hit. As we were on single track going downhill, he stopped suddenly and I had to grab my brakes but there was not enough distance to come to a complete stop. I eventually stopped right next to him and his pedal clipped out a piece of my fork. It sucks big time. I immediately sent the bike to the bike shop and they said it’s just cosmetic damage and that the fork is still good to be ridden with. The fork is not bent and the travel is still the same. I need your opinion just by looking at the pics. Do you think it’s safe to still ride on? And is there anyone that can repair this by filling it up with putty and spraying the fork again? Lemme know your thoughts. Any advice/opinion will be appreciated.
  14. I have to give my 40km entry up as i got sick this week.... still interested?
  15. Over time, will this product damage your vehicles roof?
  16. I have to agree. I am gonna go with the Silverback Mercury 1. I am currently using a Silverback Reno with Mavic Crossride tubeless wheels for over 3 years now and it hasn't let me down 1 day... time for a dual suspension bike... Thanks to all for your input. Much appreciated!
  17. Westdene has a Scott Spark 40 2012 model on the floor. I asked for it to be weighed and it was 12.98kg. Now to find a Mecury 1 and get a more accurate weighing. Is there a diff in weight between different sizes of the same model of bicycle?
  18. And both compared to DT Swiss 445d wheels? The reason i am asking is because i have a set of Crossrides that i am currently using but i am planning to bike a new dual susser soon. I have 2 options at this point. The Scott Spark 40 or the Silverback Mercury 1. The Scott comes with DT Swiss wheels and the Mercury comes with the Deore XT wheels. Therefore i asked the question cos i wud like to know if i should keep my Crossrides or sell them? At this point its a hard choice to make between those 2 bikes i am considering.
  19. Thanks guys... I am only looking at the 2012 models. Prices & Weight: Scott Spark 40 - R17550 - 12.?? kgs Mercury 1 - R17910 - 12kgs What i like about the Scott is that it has a tapered headtube and that twinloc system. I am not sure if the Mecury has a remote lockout for both front and rear suspension? Also not sure if the headtube is tapered. Another difference is the Mecury's fork has a 100mm travel compared to the Scotts 120mm. Does this make a huge diff? On the other hand, the Mecury overall imo has higher spec'd wheels, full XT groupset...
  20. So, which is preferred and superior?
  21. I need help deciding between these 2 bikes??? Any advice or opinions on them would be appreciated. If there are any other contending bikes in a similar range/budget, please mention them. Thanks.
  22. Don't lie Joe, you cycle with another Kaapie to....
