  1. Thanks To date, communication from the Miway team, the claims representative and manager allocated to me is absolutely zero. Concerning questions I've raised via email to the representative on the 9th of Nov is ignored and not replied to. The only feedback I so far received was on the 13th of Nov via the social media and nothing directly communicated to me (the paying customer) The only information I have is from the 6th of Nov from the Rep via email that the frame will be repaired and it will take 14 to 18 days excluding shipping and assembly. Currently, I have no idea where the frame is or condition or weight penalty due to repair or integrity of frame structure. I'm not sure if this is Miway's business model and attitude towards there customers not to respond or to keep customers updated. All I know is that these makeshift business (call centres) that popped up recently needs to be reviewed and eliminated? I will post as soon as new information comes Miway. I hope this helps. RIP Tora Tora 21-04-2015 to 24-10-2015
  2. Thanks 2014/2015 model Oversize bb and thin rear stays, very popular brand On the road from Sept 2015, done 3 races + Redhill and 300 km homing. Thank you
  3. Four working days has past and to date no replies from your claim representative (Miway team) was directly communicated to me, although I begged via e-mail for response. Is this Miway's business model and etiquette? Is Streetfighter an existing client on your database or your professional assumption? Nowhere in Miway's policy wording, does repairing of carbon frames appear under mimovables as cover and I asked to please explain and clarify matters, but nothing so far! You (Miway team) are playing your assessors against each other; leaving your customers guessing, which in my opinion is a true reflection of scam artists. Why does the superficial damage of 1000gram carbon frame as you put it, take an expert 14 to 18 days to repair? Is your carbon frame repairer not exactly sure how much carbon needed for the job? You've (Miway team) has taken extreme measures to cripple a loyal customer and damaged our relationship. I've continued to cancel my other business with you ( Miway) for the lack of confidence present. I'm currently searching for another saddle to compensate, to complete upcoming events and also searching for an established broker in the new year that takes matters to heart. To Miway team pls respond

  5. Sorry to hear about this...I was in the cde group the crash on the Malmesbury rd went over 2 guys that went down pretty hard.
  6. Thanks I've send an email to Rachel Lewis with the necessary questions obtained from the hub and also mentioned that this claim is openly discussed on thehubsa forum The only response I got from Rachel Lewis is that the frame is with Ian at Procycles for repair. To keep sanity I cancelled my other policies with them to avoid disappointments if I should claim in future. So far I'm waiting on response from Rachel to clarify the remaining questions that I asked.
  7. Policy wording under Miway mimovables , sorry still searching for link It's rather shocking to read, not even close to the product I purchased over the phone. Not even sure if I was insured or just a PayPal
  8. What is so fascinating about this, is the carbon frame is not painted to reduce weight by manufacturer, and only received a clear laquar. How on earth will this repair be concealed, if the whole frame have the roar carbon layer look? Most importantly, the guarantee to frame my safety and others! Medical cost, if frame snaps under high speed and injury occurs to me and other riders and the list goes on and on. Looking at the bright side, I'm happy this happen to me, and not to all the super dudes I meet on the road.
  9. Thank you for all the advice, comfort and support it is truly appreciate! I will be in contact with Miway from 9-11-15 to establish method of assessment and I'm sure the visual tap and listen approach was used to keep cost down. The more professional approach to detect invisible damage to the inside/outside of frame *endoscope(internal camera) *x - ray *a combination of heat, ultrasonics and hi-resolution thermal imaging * These methods are costly and will exceed the value of a new frame
  10. After my accident on raceday 24-10-15 at the CWC Derby Dash I've reported may first ever claim via e-mail to Miway. They've responded, and advise me to take my racebike to CWCycles to do the assessment, as they are the only assessor in Cape Town for Miway. Rachel Lewis (rep) and Martinus (Manager) was unhappy with Chris Willemse's professional decision to have the frame replaced. With a lengthy discussion, the manager explain to me that fixing carbon frames is common practice and Miway need to manage their funds? Hands tied Miway shipped my frame free of charge to Johannesburg to have another assessment done with who they've a better understanding November 06, 14 days later the bad news arrived that my frame will be repaired and it will take another 14 to 18 days excluding shipping and assembly. I'm blown away by this and lost for words. Paid up coming events like DC and Burger now hanging on a thread and all I can do is maybe purchase another bicycle to compensate? Hope is not a strategy but hope is all I had in my insurance Miway claim no674753 R280 for R50 000 failed hopelessly
  11. With Miway, road bike R180 for 30 000 and race bike R280 for R50 000. I'm busy with a claim since my accident on Malmesbury road in the Derby dash Saturday that past cde group. Was well received, and miway requested to take my damaged bicycle (frame)to Chris Willemse Cycles for assessment cause they do the assessment down hear in Cape Town. Chris Willemse Cycles response to Miway is to replace the carbon frame (damage to the left rear back stay of my swift attack)but according to Rachel Lewis (rep) and Martinus.... (manager) they have a better understanding with Procycles up in Johannesburg that can fix carbon frames therefore Miway will ship the bike free of charge for further assessment. By now hands tied and completely out of the picture this exercise has taught me to expect the worse and nothing less from Miway. For my safety no matter the outcome I will stick to Oom Chris Willemse's assessment to replace the frame to avoid any further unseen medical cost and damages to other road users if failure should occur...hope my wife reads this Ps there will be a newly repaired 2015 swiftcarbon frame available shortly! Not sure about warranty but claim no674753 will be tagged to frame
