My cranks have some play in them, looks like the shaft in the BB is the cause. I'd like to open it up to check the bearings etc. Any idea what tools I'd need? Obviously an 8mm allen wrench which I have, then I'll need a crank puller which I should be able to find, but lastly I'll need something to undo whatever you call that piece with all those grooves in it. Any ideas? And will the other side be the same, I can't see past the sprockets. The cranks have TRUVATIV FIVE D written on them if that helps. Thanks. They're used on the back of tandems, but I haven't been able to locate one. Anyone know where I can find one?

Not me sadly, hopefully someday, but I thought you guys might find this interesting, from the site solarafrica2010.org He left a few days ago, perhaps some of you live along the route and would like to join him for part of the ride, or offer him some accomodation as he's funding the trip himself.

I need to pick up a new rear tyre and my priorities for it are durability and puncture resistance. Not too phased about weight or offroad grip as I seldom leave the tarmac. What do you guys recommend? If I was overseas I'd likely pick up a schwalbe marathon plus, but I haven't seen them anywhere locally. Is there something equally good I can get here? Looking for a 26 x 2.00 size. Thanks

It was called a "Ladies Bracket" I think you can still get them. Thanks Fleming and jagwil that sounds like it might do the trick, I'll see if I can get hold of someone at holdfast. Hopefully it can handle the weight needed.

So basically I need the bike to stand on it's wheels, and the some type of post to strap/clamp it to. Maybe someone knows of a place that'll custom weld one for me? patrickza2009-12-30 12:31:45

Ok hopefully this is the right section for this question, but where do I find a towbar mounted rack to hold a very 35kg bike. It must be a ride on type as my triangle is covered by a plastic box.
