  1. Anything is possible with enough imagination
  2. Yeah I do understand but that's also because u are probably the only one that buys those sweets here in SA. Low volume = High price. But if we are all honest we would agree that here in SA we pay more than most other countries for bike's and spares, in some cases ALOT more. I guess that we just have to be clever with our cash and know what things are worth, that way we can keep the prices in check and not allow retailers to rip us off. It is harder if ur new to the sport like me and not really too familar with all the prices.
  3. Quote: What however p1sses me off is the bike shops that are ripping us off. I was quoted over R4k for a pair of Specialized shoes at a shop in JHB and I just paid R2k for it here in London. WTF!!!! This is what I am talking about, shoes for R4k, that's mental.
  4. You do have a point but it's slightly flawed. I am pretty new to MTB racing and am enjoying the sport very much, in fact I think that I may be slightly addicted to it and my addiction is growing as we speak. Car brands such as Geely, CHANA and the likes all make cars that will do prettty much the same thing as say a Toyota or VW but there is quite a large gap in the safetly and quality with the VW and Toyota brands being much better in both departments. I do however feel that we get a raw deal on bikes here in SA, it's quite a large sport and it's growing very rapidly but the prices seem high when you compare them to other countries, my mate just came back from Spain and the UK and told me about how cheap most of the kit over there is, he said that he would have bought a whole bunch of stuf for his bike if he had more time while overseas. We seem to get a raw deal on price when compared to other countries. It also pisses me off when I hear from well known bike shops that all most of the bikes are made in the same factoris over in CHINA anyway, they just get different designs and components and are then branded with various names. That's like a CHANA bakkie being branded a Toyota Hilux. So we are paying Toyota prices even though the bikes are in fact made by CHANA, if you get what I mean?? Just my 5c And don't get me wrong I do understand that there would be a huge gap in quality when you compare a R1500 bike to a R30k bike but why the hell do some of these bikes cost as much as a second hand car? Seems crazy.
  5. I guess that they could erect one of those fence ramps so that people can get out of NF without damaging the fence?
