  1. Hi guys - check out the revamped site www.silverbacklab.com - there is a link on the home page to view some new bikes and I also just uploaded some to my personal twitter account - busy walking through the lab with my phone snapping away. Will make sure I get one of the Kansas too :-)
  2. No idea on pricing yet - but frameset option I quite like. Thanks for all the tips guys, much appreciated
  3. Then maybe Dura Ace is the better option with the white detail in the wheels
  4. What group and wheels would you use? I'm torn between SRAM Red with Bora, and Dura Ace with Dura Ace deep section wheels?? Choices choices...
  5. Bike is already sexy enough I reckon
  6. Loving the detail on this!!
  7. Will be available as framesets as well. Integrated seatpost and high modulus carbon - I wonder what it would weigh in at... Will go do some homework
  8. Better view of the stays:
  9. I'm definately due for an upgrade whenever this docks!!
  10. Finally got my hands on some of the 2010 bike previews! Tese are just the entry level bikes for now but more to follow. Gallery up here http://bit.ly/rRqzP Will upload some a bit laterZoonCronje2009-09-18 04:33:12
  11. www.teamgarmin.co.za hosts some coordinates to races from time to time and will find out if they will look into hosting trails too
  12. There has to be some more hub bikes that have been pimped...
  13. The guys in Europe are already talking to another local agent - it is a great brand and wont be without a local distributor for long. Since Silverback does it OEM they can also assist with warranty issues
  14. Ek ry nogal helwat die laaste tyd - race net nie meer self so gereeld nie. Ry darem di race roetes voor of na die tyd. Het actually weer padfiets ook begin ry na 4 jaar van net MTB.

  16. Thought I'd start up a thread to see just how many celebs and famous faces actually cycle, to start heres two local lads: Ashwell Prince (Protea - cricketer) - Silverback Team issue Warren Brosnihan - rugby legend and SS commentator: Silverback Surplus 2 I'm sure some of you have some odd shots so let's see who else there is!
  17. Hi everyone Wessel and co did mention at the start that they will be seeding from the next race onwards. This was the first event and because they opted to make it cheaper and do the adin thmselves they did not have access to a seeding system. In other words - this first event was the seeding event so the next one would not have to battle congestion. I think we all agree the course was awesome and that if the seeding issue is resolved (which it is after race 1 as stated above) the rest of the series will be worth while attending. I know I will! I live out near where we raced and I was amazed to find such an incredible route so close to home! See you all at the Diamond rush!
  18. I have been watching this thread for a while and I think it is about time for a reality check! <?: prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> This bickering and ranting has no effect on DCM?s business and their bottom line but it most definitely has every reason to disenchant a passionate sponsor and cost a number of cyclist their jobs and livelihood. The saying loose lips sink ships is quite applicable here needless to say. Think about this for a second, here is a sponsor who funds the top team in SA and raises the game for pro MTB teams in SA. DCM also rescued the World Cup when they couldn?t find a sponsor to host the event thus saving SA from some serious shame and the risk never to have a chance to play host again ? just look at the success it turned out to be! Another very interesting fact is that the juniors currently racing in Europe is funded and made possible by the selfsame DCM. Tiger I really think you should have thought twice before airing your dirty laundry in public. What you are effectively doing is giving DCM a trail by media (or public forum as it may) but without their side of the story. Now I actually applaud DCM for trying to handle this in a civilized manner and not giving Tiger a bloody nose in public as they could have easily done. Being in the marketing side of our industry I know the value of a sponsor like DCM and trust me when I say they are hard to find. I caught up with the DCM boys at Rooiberg and out of interest had a chat to Ian. Now it seems to me that there is an obvious dispute about damage caused that amounts to R40 000 and this was likely because of negligence. You don?t have to be a rocket scientist to see why DCM might have wanted to clear up some concerns first and like a responsible big company go through the motions of resolving a dispute amicably. Now for a large company with a new staff member handling this issue it is only logic for it to take a bit longer than Tiger would have liked. I cringed at almost every post made on the topic since everyone is so quick to flame the guy doing a world of good for the sport we all love. Consider for once the true effect of the public smearing you are so quick to indulge in and the ?good? it does for the sport.
  19. Onetime we do not have the Surplus one as frameset only at the moment Another option to consider that goes for around R14000 is the Mercury 3:
  20. Full XT drivetrain with carbon stays retailing for under R15k The 100mm air shock will help a lot with that rough singletrack as well Check out www.silverbacklab.com for specs
