one way to do it is to remove all the cogs with less than 16teeth and replace the with spacers and then set the derailer so i only works on the remaining gears. also make sure the big chain ring on the front is a 52

i've ridden both shimano and time but after gettin crank bro's candy i'll never ride anything else. the cage gives a much larger pedeling platform than most pedals and i've never had a problem in mud. they don't clog at all. the cage also offers protection from rocks and stumps. ridden them for 3 years and couldn't be happier. Candy's all the way!!
