  1. The site has started to get some traffic and some interesting questions are being asked. Have a look - http://mountainbike.stackexchange.com
  2. Is that a prerequisite for a successfull site
  3. You never know until you try.
  4. You will see that the site is quite different from a forum like the Hub, the MountainBikeExchange site is more of a Q&A site. There is a good answer to this question on the StackExchange site. Try it out and you will see.
  5. I am launching a MTB Knowledge Exchange site where people can ask and answer MTB related questions. You can answer and ask questions to your heart's content as an anonymous user, much like Wikipedia. However, there are some things you won't be able to do on the site without registering. But it's easy to register if you want to. All you need is an OpenID account. I believe that this can work really well as a knowledge repository. The site is currently empty and will improve as it is used and gets populated with your questions and answers. Go and have a look and share the love. Please also spread the word so that we can get as many people as possible contributing to the site. The URL for the site is: http://mountainbike.stackexchange.com
  6. Any idea how well these hold air in a tubeless setup? I have Mavic c29ssmax wheels. Richard
  7. Where can you get 29er tyres in SA. I have seen Specialized tyres at Fritz Pienaar - where else? Does anyone stock 29er UST tyres (GEAX TNT tyres or Hutchinson Python UST or any other UST 29er tyre)? Thanks Richard
  8. I donated blood last year in the week before the 94.7 and certainly felt the effects for 2 - 3 weeks afterwards. Biologically my understanding is that the blood volume recovers in 48 hours (drink lots of water) but your red blood cell count takes 3 - 8 weeks to recover to the pre-donation level. In terms of the decrease in performance I would say it is about 5-10% in the first week reducing over the next few weeks. This is because you normally donate one pint of blood (0.57 litres) and your body contains about 5 litres of blood so you lose about 10% of your red blood cells which are responsible for transporting the oxygen to your muscles. Hope that helps.
  9. Nice one! I can vouch that this one flies up the hills
