  1. Thanks guys, this is exactly the information I am looking for. I can see how the correct size is stressed here. I don't mind 2nd hand at all...they say one man's junk is another man's gold, so here's to hoping i find a great deal out there!
  2. Hi all, I am looking into buying my first road bike and have no idea as to the various brands that i could explore in the "slightly better than entry-level" range. What i mean by this, is that i can't break the bank on a bike but i want it to be a semi-competitive bike. I know full carbon frames are OUT of the price range i'm working with but i just want to find out your opinions or at least get an idea of what makes and models i should be looking at. Thanks!
  3. Cool thanks - i think i must open up and see whats going on. It's pointless me riding, getting a flat and then not knowing what the hell to do...
  4. Makes sense. I thought of doing that but was worried that i would lose the conversion if i stripped it down. This is why i'm trying to figure out what to expect and what to do...
  5. Being new to mountain biking I am still a bit clueless on some technical things. I have just bought a second hand bike and the seller told me the bike is running on Ghetto Tubeless tyres. Can someone please elaborate for me - what should i know before going on a long ride with no spare, no pump, no idea!??
  6. Great...thanks for names! I am a UK Size 12, and more often than not i struggle to find my size shoes so that is the first problem. What i was trying to suss out was what kind of prices i can expect for a good pair of MTB shoes and also where you guys like getting your gear from. One thing i can't stand is sales people/stores that couldn't care less about the riders that support them...
  7. I have been looking around for Specialized and Shimano based on recommendations. What are your thoughts? Any other brands i should keep my eyes open for? Price wise i have seen pretty average brand shoes coming in at R700 and then the other end of the scale with shoes at R2500. Ultimately i am looking for shoes better than entry level but not the high end, high spec, full racing MTB shoes. I'm not sounding fussy am i??
  8. HELP! Has anyone else found it so difficult to find the right MTB shoes in Cape Town!!?? I am struggling to find a decent supplier of MTB shoes in and around Cape Town, so if you have any good experiences or suggestions, all are welcome...thanks!
