  1. Not sure many guys here actually thought about your question very well. Firstly what hardtail did you buy ? Secondly ( and assumed yes by most here ) are you riding boost sized hubs ? What is the internal width of the rims you have ? Wheel size ? Many of the tyre options suggested might not even fit on your bike.
  2. I have done the same on my twins bikes. Converted the 3x7 to a 1x10 and the 3x8 to a 1x 10. Cost me two newish back wheels(26”) so luckily plenty available. I fixed the front derailleur on the middle ring with the adjuster screws then removed the cable and shifter. The derailleur acts as a good chain guide. Left the other rings on. Had to change the shifter for the rear and the derailleur obviously. 10speed chain works well on the crank sets. Next It now depends on if your bike is a disk brake or rim brake set up, this will cause a probl m if the shifter and brakes are all in one. This is where it gets tricky. Good luck.
  3. I am happy to say that the problem has been resolved, the mistake was on our system side between the 3rd party hosting our estore and our orders department. This hasn't happened before and shouldn't happen again. Jeffrig has been contacted and will receive the bib he ordered as well as a refund. @ lerouc yes we could sift through a few weeks of documentation but the request was to speed up an already unpleasant process of getting to the bottom of this. It is not as easy as searching on an in house system for an undelivered order when there is a third party system involved. I am most certainly not passing on any of the blame, simply hoped to fast track a resolution. As for the arm sleeve, there are a few thousand other clients that received them and were pretty thrilled to receive a pair of arm sleeves at R50, yes it was a marketing tool and it's your prerogative to use these as you please.
  4. Hi Neil, thank you for the message, I to must apologize that your experience with the new design was not a good one. We do try to please but inevitably there are a few customers that don't find the benefits of developments that happen to products. We have in fact taken comments from various customers and worked on finding a happy medium. Perhaps your next purchase could still be a Rockets bib you could be happy with. What size are you ? we might even still have an odd one in the style you described that I could send you. Yours kindly Richard
  5. Good day "Jeffrig" as this is the first I have heard of this complaint, I find it disturbing to see these types of accusations on an open public forum like this, I assume all avenues to resolve this have obviously been exhausted. Please would you indicate with whom you have spoken, this will be followed up promptly. Please to would you forward me the mails you have sent in your attempts to resolve this. I will check our face book messages for the complaint as well. Would you be so kind as to email me your invoice and proof of payment for this online purchase so that I may personally follow this query up for you. My email address is richbeer@rocketssa.co.za Thank you. The MD. Rockets SA @neilneilneil, I am happy to assist with your matter too, If I bought 3 bibs and they didn't last, I certainly would have taken this up with the Manufacturer.
  6. It is getting out of hand. I really try and quantify what some races are charging and it just doesn't add up. Due to some races charging a lot, the others jump on the band wagon and use the " it's the going rate " excuse. Why is it possible to charge half the price in the free state as they do in Gauteng which gets twice the amount of entries !!!!
  7. I have changed everything except the crank, so it won't wok on 3x9 chainings ? It seams to shift just fine on the work stand ?
  8. Often you will find bad shifting as mentioned here because the cable has been pulled to tight when tightening it to the RD. This throws out your limit screw settings badly. No matter how hard you adjust the cable tension on the barrel adjusters it won't help. Try replacing the cable to start with(this is the cheapest fix and can only help) then only use finger tension when pulling the cable tight at the RD.
  9. Hi I have an m970 xtr crank, it is meant for a 3x9 set up but I am changing the rest of the drive train to a 10speed. From what I understand there is a difference in the space between the front rings that would not shift well with the 10speed chain. I will Chang to 10x3 eventually but have th xtr crank already, is what I want to do going to have an issue ? I am cry particular about smooth shifting. Thanks for any advice or experience in advance.
  10. I wish they would wake up and make it minimum qualifying, I'm so sick of uneducated unfit wallies making it an abortion for riders trying to be competitive, safely !!!! So its a lotto, make them put into cycling first by riding other races ! Qualify dammit !
