  1. Guys I need help. Short no rise stem, or slightly longer stem with a slight rise? I cant make up my mind and cant tell what feels better. anyone got any science behind this? id imagine id get more power/ from the shorter stem? and more control and a slightly more upward feel from the rise and longer stem?
  2. mmmmm i wish there was a way to try them out or somthing....ill go check the local shops and see if they sell them, just to size myslef
  3. mmmmm ill check out crown.....just cause its around the corner, but Cap, are those 661 Kyle Straits solid? also, are they plated or is it just lots of material? and what size would you say is good for me?
  4. im not quite sure what to get exactly... http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=9590 http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=3539 **
  5. What happened?? i also had a couple of tumbles recently.....getting 661 armor
  6. Cool, maybe see you there, you riding Jonkershoek?
  7. Thanks! ya it kinda sucks when all the sand becomes loose, it was really bad by the chicken run by the road gap! You up for a ride tomorrow or sunday? Murray and i are going at 12ish tomorrow?
  8. The race was awesome! why didnt you race?? Angus did the best he got like 4 minutes and they messed up my time casue i overtook somone so they got the ordering wrong so i got no time for my first run and on my second i came off on litrally the second last berm.....Murray and i are riding thursday afternoon? 4 till 6 30, if you wanna join? all the tracks have been dressed up a little....they also made a whole new one down that big long straight on the way up....its awesome. let us know if you can ride
  9. Yes the size will make quite a difference, specially if you want to ride as often as you want. After a while you wont feel as comporatble and you will feel to stretched out and might get aches and pains too, rather go for a large...even though its R1500 more, it will be worth it to have to correct size. youll have more control of the bike if it was your size too (L).
  10. Sure no problem, I wouldnt get the merida....the parts arnt even Deore.....i dont think they will hold if you plan on riding so often. id say get the Silverback. Best value for money and the got really good aftersales service.
  11. ok well we should be there untill about 1 tomorrow. and durung the week we ride from 4:30 till 6:30 if you free
  12. I think the Merida would be a bad deal
  13. Hey Spacekriek, id say the best value for money would be the Silverback....althoughive had a rather bad experiance with them. They have really good specs for their price. What type of riding do you plan on doing? XC? When looking at a second hand bike, check the drive train, (chain, clusuter and chainrings) for any wear or damage. make sure the fork isnt worn and that there are no visable leaks of any sort. also check all the joins/welds on the frame for hairline cracks or chips that could become a problem.
