  1. Nice to see one...
  2. looks like a full tri-color....pretty fantastic!!
  3. This is the project I have at the moment. That's an exaggeration because I've done nothing but look at her. I decided on her in Sept 2021. Obviously I include an obscure photo to create some mystery and hopefully leave you wanting more. 😉 She is from a German frame builder that had a very small shop. I can find nothing that isn't already suggested by the decals and the shop sticker. The frame was hand built and the full setup finished to specification for the original owner who commissioned her in 1981. I am the second owner. She is super light and almost original. I get the feeling that the frame colour is a signature colour; meaning that the builder used only this colour. Thats really interesting and I'm trying to confirm that. The project delay lies in the decisions about rust care and the big step of full restoration. This and also the rarity of hunting the matching RD in vg condition. And...the headbadge is a decal that is very, very difficult to duplicate. The head badge decal is not perfect so I can only get so far with the one I have. There are no tube decals or internet images to help me with that. This one may take me a while but at the same time I'm happy to let it be as is.
  4. I tried it only with this bike. The blue tape complimented the frame very nicely. I decided on three diamonds on the top and bottom of the drop. But, there are obviously many design and colour combinations possibile. Google would have thrown a lot of images at you. The benotto tape is flat; other sorts are profiled and may be more difficult to finish. I only found it because I googled a wrap technique that would save having to finish with electrcal tape. Yes, I miss this bike. 😢
  5. Well spotted. The saddle is a Kashimax Gold saddle in gold. Also worth its weight in gold. The person I got it from, also still pines for it. It was the perfect saddle for this build. You also noticed the 3x harlequin weave in the Benotto tape? and no end tape?

  7. This is so special.!!! Miss mine soooooo much 😢...
  8. ^ no not really, only a pedal and some seat rail clamps (all in the photo) and a handful of BB cups.
  9. Just the one packet.
  10. Need to show you an example of the what the drawers looked like before and after they were cleaned. Years of grease removed without removing the patina 72 drawers !
  11. Lovely...thanks for this, bikebloke.
  12. Know there are some of you with great resources.
  13. Pulled this packet out. Somebody know what this belongs to? Simple "half-moon" part with two black cheese head screws
  14. Drawers full of stuff. Such a heap of smalls. This steel cabinet from a famous bike shop...crammed.
  15. I've been in some drawers today. (You'll notice that I'm actively posting some stuff to sell) Found some Zeus shifters.
  16. ^ that's in descending order left to right (Winking emoji)(laughing emoji)
  17. Thanks kamaalo, you have a model or link?
  18. Need some help here please. Happened apon a steel Bianchi? Well let's start with confirmation that the caps "B" inside a tight circle on the tips of the seat stays indicates a Bianchi please ?? If it is a Bianchi...then, I add that the seat stays are beautifully aero. Does any one know more about which model and year it could be? The frame has been badly repainted so I have no other notes.
  19. Had myself a bike find. It's been a while since I've been this lucky...if ever this lucky, actually. Spotted an ad with one horrendous photograph, clearly taken at night and from no less than 10 metres away. Ha, but, my trained eye picked up what I thought looked like a bike with a DA7400 crankset and the STI's sharp and glinting enough to be DA too. So went to see her and sure enough it is cycling's finest components: Dura Ace on a nice Panasonic frame. It turns out that the real fund is not the GS, but, the frameset ! Later I research to find out that this bike is even heralded in some circles as : "finding a unicorn" Wow, I immediately find myself deeply attached to this rare and prestigious frame: a "Panasonic Team America Custom" Absolutely beautiful detail in this frame. I guess I've just got myself a new project.
  20. That answer was unexpected. It looks the same in size and design as a skewer swing arm?
  21. Came across this quick release skewer arm. Can't find much, bar one reference to "Olimpico cursa hub" but see no skewers in the related images. Anyone have info on this piece..?
  22. That's the one LC. Thank you so much.
