How sandy is 'Sandy' when you guys talk about riding next to the river?? Contemplating doing either the 37 or the 56 but undecided. Managed to do ok in the MTB argus which is 40km. how intense is that extra 16km??

Hey guys I just wanted to get some info and perspective. This is my first MTB race i am doing. I am very excited. Ready to get broken... I picked up my board today. The thing is MASSIVE!!! i am not a negative nancy and one who moans about small things but is the board normally this big??? its twice the size it can hardly fit infront with the cables there. I presume we are not allowed to trim the board hey... Are all boards for MTB races this big?? Regards Eric
