  1. School is important hahahaha
  2. you guys speak of unmounting a tyre as if its easy to get it off and back on.... Maybe i just need a bit more practise. But thanks for the heads up.
  3. So i did the conversion last night using the Stan's kit. I have Bontrager Select wheels and used a Larsen T USt and Monorail UST tyre. It went pretty well except for putting the sealant into the tyres. any advice for a "cleaner" or easier way to add the sealant? The tyres seemed to seal immediately except for a small hole on the sidewall that i noticed on a new tyre but i guess that will seal as well. Any advice??? I used a syringe but the sand like particles kept blocking the exit.
  4. My bicycle insurance paid for my cycling bag
  5. All i did was sharing a bad situation that had an upside due to a company honouring its side of the deal. I pay my premiums - fact. A buddy's car was stolen at the 94.7 cycle challenge - fact. My cycling bag was in the car - fact. The value of the bag with its contents is was about R3000 - fact. I claimed on Monday and on Tuesday the claim was approved.
  6. I'd like to let fellow hubbers know about the super service i received from Outsurance. The car i went with to the cycle challenge was stolen with a bag with my lights, shock pump and a few other accessories (dont know why i carry the bag with me but i do). Put in a claim and it was sorted Tuesday afternoon. Big up to them.
  7. I agree 100%. They do have a thankless job and we need to give them credit but i guess when it starts affecting us we become very biased towards ourselves.
  8. Slave - i've been "priveledged" enough to hang around in crime ridden areas like Eldorado Park (Eldo's). Do you know what the local policemen do?? The drive around and arrest people for drinking in public and loittering. That's about it. So they cant give us that excuse. They get paid to deal with society's evils and if they dont want the task anymore they should let us know and sure there'll be some pipe bomb weilding cyclists out there. Trek67002009-07-27 07:30:18
  9. I think i need to report this incident as well so if these buggers do get caught they could be nailed properly.... But my faith in the justice system is not where it should be
  10. Hi guys... New to the forum but have been checking it out for some time... Anyway... a mate and I experienced the same thing yesterday in this area. Two black guys gave us way, as we passed the one pushed my partner but luckily he was able to control his bike and we carried on riding. Has these attacks been reported?? I reckon we as cyclists should get all ghetto on these thugs and go out looking for them instead of them looking for us.... 2 thugs with pangas will be no match for 20+ cyclists armed with emotional and physical scars and anger that could move mountains. Soon we'll have cops patrolling these areas looking for the group op "vigilantes" donnering criminals on footpaths in and around Gauteng. PHEW!!!!! i'm glad i finally registered to the forum but not happy about the circumstances that spurred me on. Trek67002009-07-20 08:15:39
