  4. Hi Peeps, looking for some guidance Looking to sell my personal mtb Kinda custom, its a silverback Sesta carbon front, sido rear. 1 x 11 xtr Recon front, fox float rear Custom sprayed etc. Roval carbon wheels with tune prince axlightness hub(very loud)... The frame has a small crack on the seat tube been riding like that for a very long time... (also have the sido frame to throw in)....
  5. Bought 1 in 2014...use it 2/3 times a week... Absolutely no issues...
  6. Being a rep I work on the road and do 1000s of km a year... I have almost owned EVERY BRAND under the sun! I now own a Renault Duster(almost 5 yrs old) and plan on paying it finished.. Not far to go... I have had 0 issues... I was VERY SCEPTIC when i 1st considered 1...did LOADS of research... Spent DAYS!... ONLY HAD POSITIVE reviews from all the different magz and people who owned them. Had to do my brakes in the beginning of last year. Renault quote was R5800... Had it done pvt cost me R1750.. With the discs and pads that renault and all other manufacturers buy from midas and re brands... Have had 0 issues... I am very happy. This is my 3rd car that i will fully own...and defn not planning on getting rid of it might just pass it on to mom and dad and get the new 1 in the next year or so... BTW google Mercedes A class renault motor... Nissan mp300 double cab engin Mp200 engin...
  7. How does one create a little voting poll thingy in a thread? Can any1 do that? Would love to see the outcome tho... Disc? Rim?
  8. I wish biking was more simple
  9. Hi Chris, to be honest there are a few comments i havent read as it was too insightful... Dunno if that makes any sense at all... I just checked in so now and then to see if i could get a plain and simple... Rim, or disc... I am appreciative of all the advice.. But as mentioned this just confused the hell out of me and decided,............... To just carry on with wot i have right now, wait and see how things play out in the next 6 mnths-year. Mayb just upgrade to a carbon frame for now and eventually when there is more clarity. Do a complete upgrade or new purchase...
  10. Hi, so there a few comments i wouldve liked to highlight and respond to, i just dont know how to do it... I think the take is... Buy what you want and what is gonna make you happy... I have to be honest, since i AM BUYING WITH THE IDEA that i would like something new, something fresh... (and honestly 17secs over 100km means nothing to me) infact the extra 300g means nothing i could probably lose that in a day... To take total weight to bike plus human = 90kg and not 90.3kg... Sooo am learning towards disc... Wil i regret it? I dont know.. I wouldn't know what to compare it to either way... But thanx for all the advice, it is most welcome.
  11. This is exactly what id thought the outcome would be... Some sort of devide... And even MORE CONFUSION as to what to buy... Atleast im getting advice from both sides. But ja, more confused than ever... However, leaning towards the idea of if i am gonna be on my bike for 2 3 4 hours.. Might as well make it as comfy as possible... Because getting home at 11.32, or 11.58 on a Saturday morning prob gonna make no difference. Do i need to come to a DEAD STOP... When on the road when there is ABSOLUTELY nothing in front of you? Unlike when going downhill on a mtb Or do I, who is already 11kg overweight wana save 300g? Good G, im rather gonna take up running which i absolutely HATE. THIS biking thing, ek weet nie meer so mooi nie...
  12. Shooo, im even more confused now.... So the occasional ride to franschoek etc and back... 70km, bottelary road kuilsriver lord Charles etc... Its just that i am DEFN due for an upgrade(if you wana call it that)... Or just a newer bike... So just wana make sure im doing the right thing.. Wont happen again for next 5 6 7 yrs...
  13. Thanx Jaques yes titan does tick my boxes will defn have a look at caad aswell if its in the same class... And can only imagine the improved ride.. As mentioned im riding a 2013 alu bike...
  14. Bt yea thanx for the feedback.
  15. Yea thanx for the feedback... But wot does future proof mean tho?... Lol... "be part of the biking look"? And not the actual ride... So yea that is also a thought that the rim wheels and frames might just drop, or have to.. Or you just keep the older one as an extra bike...
