  1. I did it a while back. Problem was getting the kits to SA because don't allow us to do the Health tests (regulatory stuff). You could try buying the Ancestry kits, change your address to US then upgrading later on, not sure if it'll work. The 23andme reports are incredibly interesting, but not for your intended purposes. Rather, you've got the option to download your raw genetic data, and upload it to other sites for analysis (https://athletigen.com/ - This is a screenshot from my report: https://imgur.com/a/X5UZk9k ) This is an old article, but read this as well: https://medicalfuturist.com/analyse-your-dna-in-your-living-room/
  2. I'm an A+ donor. My wife's O-, but can't donate due to medical reasons. I always urge everyone, esp group O+/- to donate. Most peoples' excuse is their fear of needles; can't help but feel it's their comfort in ignorance Completely true. But just to grind your gears: Rhesus incompatibility isn't "such a big issue". O+ is given to men and older women in emergencies when O- isn't available, which happen way too often, unfortunately. Edit: Not without risk, but benefit outweighs the risk
  3. Hey. Be careful. Hypoglycaemia isn't a diagnosis, but rather a symptom of many different conditions. Let's hope it's only inadequate nutrition. What is your idea of eating clean? What is your body fat %? Is this hypoglycaemia an incidental finding or is it the reason you went to your GP? Basically, you need to increase your calorie intake, but whether you need to do this pre, during or post training depends on the above questions. Also, if increasing your intake doesn't resolve your symptoms, something sinister might be going on.
  4. There's nothing more important than this. Don't waste your time, don't frustrate yourself. Sort out your diet and eating habits first. Sent from my C6903 using Tapatalk
  5. What if you add the speed and cadence sensors? I've got a fenix 3, but now I'm looking for something more for my cycling. Do you get a handle bar mount for the fenix 3? Sent from my C6903 using Tapatalk
  6. Thank you for the advice:) I read somewhere on this forum about bike sizes and it got me wondering. How do I know the size of my bike and whether it's the correct size for me? I tried looking for wheel sizes but didn't see any measurements Running is so much simpler Eish hermes, glad for that helmet hey. I'll look at getting a new helmet. I've seen quite a few people in my life that was hit by cars/trucks - without helmets. Commuters. I understand the importance and value of a helmet. This is the biggest reason for wanting to get an indoor trainer.
  7. Hello New to cycling, coming from a running background. I got a Felt Z80. I took it for a ride around the neighbourhood the other day, and everything seemed to be fine. It's probably a good idea to have it serviced before I start training with it? Looks like some of the gears might be a bit worn out.... I'm also thinking of getting a magnetic indoor trainer - During the weekdays, I'm only able to train at night. I'm planning to do open road rides on weekends. (thinking about riding on the road is quite scary - heard too many horror stories ) Can't find many indoor trainers in SA, but found this one from Sportman's Warehouse: http://www.sportsmanswarehouse.co.za/product/giant-cyclotron-magnetic-indoor-trainer Any comments? I got a helmet as well. How do I know the helmet is "okay" or still fine? There's no obvious cracks. Here's a photo of the bike: http://i.imgur.com/1VBV1LPl.jpg Thanks FJ
