  1. My beloved stumpy was going to be taken for a light night stroll in the street tonight. As I was pushing the old girl out of the house, I heard a popping noise, which I assumed was the pedal clipping an old wooden chair. Luckily that wasn't the case, because that thing is perceived as holy in our house. UNLUCKILY, the noise came from my rear triangle.. more specifically my seat stay that had snapped. Which leads me to my (already stated in the title) question.. Anyone got a 26er 2012 stumpy rear triangle that they want to sell? Pretty please? Alternatively, has anyone been able to get a alu rear triangle fixed? Apparently it isn't really doable. Ps. Those that know the old girl know she has been extremely temperamental. But she has a soft place in my hart, so it would be sad to see her go like this.
  2. It's a GIRO, which I believe is made in California, or at least that is where their HQ is. So there goes that hope it seems. Dankie
  3. Aha! Hoping it would be a different story from ordering from Germany (who is actually still in the EU), but might not be. Just looking for a good excuse to buy the damn helmet! Thanks though!
  4. Apparently the 40% doesn't apply to helmets ordered from EU. Something to do with a trade agreement that was signed recently. Still not hundred percent sure, so just want to confirm.
  5. Howzit everyone. I've spotted a helmet I want to buy from www.bike-discount.de, but I have no idea what the added costs are when ordering helmets from the EU Do any of you know what the import tax and all of those added costs are above their price? I have mailed them, but the helmet is on special, so I want to jump on this as soon as possible. Thanks!
  6. Howzit Naas. The hub is still at someone in Stellies, but will try to figure something out to get it to you guys. Really hoping that the axle is the only problem. There has been a nasty creak coming from the back area from before the axle was snapped.. Might have been due to the axle being cracked (not sure if it was cracked for a while and then snapped, or if it all happened in one go..). So I'm scared that after all of the effort of getting a new axle, the hub ends up being the source of that creak, then I have to replace the hub anyway It's also worrying that this is the 2nd axle that has been snapped whilest using that hub.. but oh well. WIll try to get it to you guys in the week. Thanks man.
  7. Yeah, Hairy has been a legend and mailed the guy that he previously worked with from Superstar and CC'd me in there. But unfortunately the guys from Superstar aren't replying..
  8. Howzit man. I'm struggling to find any info on the models that are the same for superstar/novatec. Where are these threads/forums? Struggling to get the novatec axle that looks like my through axle. Mine has two ridges that I'm assuming keeps the hub in it's place or something, whereas the novatec ones that I have seen are just smooth without ridges
  9. Howzit everyone. So the rear axle on my 2012 stumpy snapped (joy). I have a superstar hub on there, but we are struggling to get a hold of the guys from superstar. Has anyone managed to get a new axle from them/ does anyone know if I can use an axle from another company? Apparently they are just rebranded novatecs?
  10. Try EVO bikes. They have a solid selection of 26er tyres available. Just got a 2.4 continental mountain king pure grip for R495.00. Taking it for it's first trip into the real world today
  11. I need some bright light for the night please! http://www.cwcycles.co.za/product/bicycle-light-1000-lumens
