  1. read a good reveiw on the garmin, that's why i put it in the mix... http://dcrainmaker.blogspot.com/2009/11/garmin-edge-500-in-depth-review.html
  2. mostely just Heart rate, Cadence, the GPS is supercool but i can live without the power!
  3. The Edge 500 is super compatible with power meters, but Let's NOT consider Power meters in this poll, as they are freakin' expensive and i'm not a pro!
  4. WOW, so more than 60% of hubbers (and therefore South African Public) think a Specialized (though a GREAT bike) is more bike porn than a Cube?!!!!!
  5. ja no...look i don't want to offend anyone with my opinion of Merida's, and besides that's not what this poll's about...Cube can be bought from the Importer at http://www.cube-bike.co.za/ The Tarmac can obviously be obtained anywhere...so it's not about convenience or servicing, any bike shop can service any bike...really just comes down to which one you the poll participator would rather be riding?
  6. So i annoyed many people in the Cube vs. Merida poll, because i don't like Merida's, but they are crap, so now the time has come for a new Road bike, so I have two similarly priced bikes, with almost the same spec's and i'd like to know what the hubbers think (it won't influence my choice....as i have made up my mind already) like i say, i wanna know what you lot think (and maybe see a couple of heated exchanges on the poll just for kicks)
  7. so will beetroot...and you won't need a dialysis machine later on when your kidneys stop working. "scientific nutrition" does not take into account years of continued use. they just test it to see if it's safe for consumption and whether any significant amount of people have any reactions to said ***. I'm not suggesting we ditch technology or science in the quest to improve...just remember you only get ONE body and your likely to screw it up if you are all about results (which you can also gain using traditional healthy methods)
  8. On this issue of supplement....Everyone is saying you have to have gels and a carbohydrate drink when you ride to maximize your nutrition and bla bla bla bla bla, just like the USN logo says "it's all about results", but has ANYONE stopped to consider what all this crap does to your poor kidneys (the organ that has to filter all the synthetic sh*t you pump into your body? or has anyone stopped the USN guy and asked him about the side effects of the crap he peddles to idiots who spend too much time looking at themselves in the gym??? (i'm not dissing on the gym-goers here, i am one too) but life (and exercise) is so much better when you do it naturally....wanna keep energized and hydrated on a ride....bananas and water work GREAT....going for longer that 4 hours...make a sandwich and take extra water...wanna build muscle? eat properly and plan your diet around your training...it's not that hard, just think about it...gels, power drinks and protein/phedra cut *** is just making one or two twat's VERY WEALTHY, (see mr. USN's ride at the epic this year) and your the one who has to live with kidney failure, a limp dick, and all kinds of other complications they didn't mention.
  9. yeah, i'm sorry, i'm a couple of months late on this thread, But anyone who chooses a Merida over a Cube is a freaking retard! that's like turning down Bugatti Veron coz you'd rather have the zebra-skin seat-covers on the tripped out M3 with zeff danville spoiler!!!!
  10. Mmmmmm.....i try not to think too much about breathing...kinda like a supermodel concentrating on walking! but i find regular swimming (i go twice a week to recover from rides for about an hour) help's the body's O2 uptake.
