Hi all "Slipstreamers' and friends ..All the best for the New Year Our club captain has asked me to send out a mail regarding this weekends club rides - we would like to have a club ride on both Saturday and Sunday - there will be a backup vehicle on both rides - please remember to bring your R10 towards the halfway refreshments. Saturday - 06:00 - Sunward Village gate - Long airport route Sunday - 06:00 - Sunward Village gate - Lido route For new year registrations, go to www.slipstreamers.co.za We are working on new safe routes for 2011 - so please be patient - The routes we choose need to be safe for large group rides. Hi All With there being the Race for Victory on Sunday - there won't be an official club ride this weekend. But if there are riders not racing this weekend - no excuse for not meeting at Sunward Village Gate at 6:00 (Saturday and Sunday) - who ever arrives will split into groups according to speeds. Ride safe and enjoy!! Please remember to diarise our charityclub ride - 31 October 2010 - will send out details early next week. Good Luck to those racing this weekend.

Maybe it's because you are riding on his well kept lawn..... We try and great all riders and runners...sometime..pull over and offer a runner some water...you will be amazed at how people re-act.. Just great and don't expect it back...soon you will see the change around you....

Hi All To all those who have entered races this weekend be it mountain bike or road - good luck and ride safe! To the rest - we have decided to schedule a ride for Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Friday - 24 September Airport Route Saturday - 25 September Stadium Loops Sunday - 26 September Lido Route (through Alberton along the R554) We would like a back-up vehicle for this ride - PLEASE if there is anyone willing to drive this Sunday - contact Mark - 082 903 5991 to make arrangements. It is going to be difficult to say if there are fast groups and slow groups, as we don't know how many, or who is going to ride. So the speed will need to be decided on the morning of the ride by the group that turns up. Stadium Loops are done at your own speed and as many as you feel fit. This is a good opportunity for those who didn't ride through winter to dust their bikes off and get started - 94.7 is only 8 weeks away!!! TIME CHANGE- 06:00 - it seems to be light enough now to start earlier. VENUE - Sunward Village Security gate Please remember all club rides are weather permitting. Hi All "Sunward Slipstreamers" & friends Sunday training 12th Sep 6:30 start I haven't managed to download a map - so will try and give you the general idea of where we would like to take the club ride for Sunday. From the boom ride straight down Nichols Road - Turn right into Kingfisher - continue all the way down to Heidelberg Road and turn left. (Alternatively we could turn left into Ronderbuldt road - not sure which is the better of the two roads) Continue until you get to the R554 Boundary Road - turn right - follow the road round and through Alrode/Alberton. Once you get to Swartkopies - turn left. You will remain on this road (R554) all the way to the T-Junction at Vereeniging Road,Kibler Park - the turn around point. The majority of the road is double and with a reasonable side shoulder and relatively flat. The only risky section is through Alrode - but hopefully at that time of the morning - traffic will be at a minimum. Sat 11th Sept - Beginners training ride : Don't forget our Beginners ride on Saturday - The Stadium Loop - all are welcome. This is your opportunity to get out of hibernation and back on your bike. We will still start from gate at 06:30 and ride to the stadium. Going up Parkrand hill and down past the stadium. REMINDER - if anyone is home tomorrow morning from 08:30 to approx 11:00 (with nothing to do) come down to the Boksburg City Stadium - our club is doing the time trials for the Ekurhuleni Metro Games. Two of our club members are riding (Marius Stevens and Nicolette Lees) Good luck !

I suppose the first race of a new season is always the tester...but what I can't understand...is the fact that the organizers know how many enterants there are !!! Then do not have the capacity to work out how many vehicles will arrive at the venue for parking..." Not to clever Nigel" The second part ...non road closure routes...organizers have to get closed events...even if we have to travel further out..It's a matter of time..before major deaths occur..

Slipstreamers Sunward Park Boksburg Sat 21 Aug 2010 Come and take the opportunity to have a easy begginer ride Tomorow morning : start 7am from the Sunward Village security boom. It will be a casual 30 to 50km learning ride. So if you are only getting back into riding after winter and just want to enjoy a easy introduction to cycling this summer - come and join us. If your are not a member, come ride with us and see how our club works. There will be no back up vehicle, but experienced riders will be riding and teaching. Riding is at your own risk - but you are all welcome. Start point is at the Sunward Village Security boom - Nicholson str. SUNDAY RIDE There will be a ride this Sunday - 22 August 2010 starting from Sunward Village gate at 06:30 at the boom. Route - Heidelberg, Nigel, Springs. Group to ride at 25km/hour until Heidelberg where the faster ones will wait - slower group can turn around and head back home - faster group ride on to Nigel and Springs. Cnr Nicholson & Oberon str , Sunward park, Boksburg Route: The 60km - Ride 4 Sight route. Distance: 60km This club ride is aimed at the new & slower riders. Back up vehicle - All welcome. ( There is a faster group going out - longer distance 90km + no back up vehicle - route decided by this group on the morning )
