  1. I see... I found the article again and it's only 10 speed Sram that will work in this way
  2. Hi Nico, Thanks. That's also why I am curious if the Goat/Road link extender will work with it? Or is that not the case with Sram derailleurs? Or would I be able to buy the cage separately if the Goat link doesn't work and swop it out?
  3. Hmm ???? Really? Am I then misunderstanding the backwards compatibility that SRAM 10 and 11 speed road and MTB is supposed to have with one another?
  4. Okay, awesome. Thanks Nico. Guess I’m taking the plunge then. Do you have this with a goat link or any other sort of modification going? Chain length mods? Anything?
  5. Thanks Pikey, I actually did read that, but it doesn’t really answer if I can do what I am asking about.
  6. Hi Nico, Yes, that’s correct. Force 1 Derailleur and Rival 1 shifters
  7. Hello fine folks.. I need your expertise please. So, I am looking at buys some SRAM 11 speed shifters with a medium cage SRAM derailleur, however, the wrench that I am throwing into the works is that I want to do a 10/11 to 40/42 cassette in the back and 1x in the front. I know with this derailleur that it can go max 11-36, but I am hoping I can go the mullet drive route with it and ad a road/goat link to the RD. Will that solve the problem and how big would the 1x in the front need to be? Thanks
  8. Thanks man.. Looking forward to getting the pieces of the puzzle And yeah, I almost didn't do it, but I'd seen the frame for about a year or something so I decided the calling was too big to ignore any longer
  9. Okay, awesome. Now the hunt for a 9 spd MTB RD begins and 10spd STI's. Haha. Does the Crankarm need a big consideration with this or does that not matter too much? Still wanna go 1x.
  10. Ahh I see. Gotta love Shimano And yeah, this is definitely not a build that I want for crazy high speeds. Definitely want to use it more off road and for climbs and things. Thanks. I'll definitely look into that
  11. Hi man, 9 speed just feels like it will be too little especially if I am doing a big ass climb don't you think? And if there's some weight to the bicycle? Meaning if I do some bikepacking
  12. That's the one. And thanks Nick. Been looking at that article.
  13. Hey fine folks! Hoping you all can help a n00b out and have some patience with my ignorance. I am in the midst of embarking on a gravel bike build. Frame details are as follows: Brother Kepler FRAME FEATURES Tubing: 4130 Chromoly steel - double-butted main triangle Brake compatibility: Disc brake only - 160mm max rotor size Dropouts: Vertical 135mm O.L.D rear dropouts Seat post diameter: 27.2mm Seat clamp diameter: 30mm (included) Headset: 1 1/8˝ threadless steerer/headset (not included) Front derailleur clamp diameter: 28.6 mm Chainring clearance: up to 52-39-30t triple, 50-34t double, 48t single Bottom bracket shell: 68mm bottom bracket - ISO threaded Tyre clearance: up to 700x45c or 650x48c Fork: 4130 Chromoly unicrown fork - disc only, 300mm steerer Frame weight: 54cm = 2.05kg Fork (with uncut steerer): 1.15kg Tested to ISO 4210 standard Frame Size (C-TT): 56cm Seat Tube (C-C): 545mm Top Tube: 560mm Head Tube: 124mm Head Angle: 72 Seat Angle: 73 BB Drop: 70mm Chainstay: 435mm Fork Length (A-C): 400mm Fork Rake: 45mm Stack: 562mm Reach: 388mm Wheelbase: 1025mm Ideally what I would like to do is a X1 34/38T, 10 or 11-42 speed drivetrain. I am hoping someone here has parts or knows what I should be looking out for. Spoke with a guy yesterday that suggested the following as a bit of a bastard setup: Sram 10 speed road levers pair with Sram 10speed MTB RD. Ideally I would love to trade or barter a photo shoot or three for parts. Or partial barter, partial payment. Thanks guys
