Sounds like a small holiday to uk to pickup my new/used canyon might be best

Unfortunately there is no way I can get a Canyon in SA Rock so import is the only way... I know that most of the local bike distributors get the bikes in seperate boxes ( frame in one and wheels and components in the other ) thereby bypassing the dutys.

I'll probably look at DHL or TNT in that case. Rock..if the bike is 'used' and sent from an individual and not a 'new' bike, does vat and duty still apply ?

Hi All, So I'm looking to purchase a Canyon bike in the UK which will be delivered to a friend their ( they dont service South Africa yet ) for him to post on to me. My question is: 1, Whats the best/cost effective/reliable company to use for delivery ? 2. If he " uses' it for a bit and then sends it on, will i be charged with vat/duties if he sends it to me as a gift ? 3. Suspect the box will be a mximum of 15kilos so what should I be expecting to pay fro delivery and should I take out insurance.

Hi Guys, Anyone know what type Dura ace 7800 front derailleur (clamp/braze etc. ) and rear derailleur ( med/long cage ) a 2008 Trek 5.5 madone would take?? Thanks
