  1. Local online cycling store, Evobikes, recently launched an updated website with improved navigation, category breakdown, stock visibility and more. Now in operation for over 10 years, Evobikes has become a staple for many online shoppers, and the recent updates look to improve the shopping experience. 2. So I followed a few others in moving away from Garmin as my primary head unit on my bike. I had previously only used wrist-based devices, aka Forerunners (205, 305, 310XT and a 735XT). The 310XT was converted to mount on the stem, and I’ve never owned a dedicated bike-only GPS head unit, until now. I was initially looking at a Garmin 130+ bundle, as I could get 39% discount from the HealthyGear card at Sportsman Warehouse. The cost of the unit ($199) converted to R3,500.00 (give or take the fluctuation in forex rates). During my online research, I found that the Lezyne Mega C/XL units were also selling at $199 (unit only). DCRainmaker has reviewed it, so I’m not going to duplicate his awesome work, but rather add my own experiences.
  3. Anybody looking for efficient service? I would just like to compliment Janos and the excellent service I received from him! Email queries and advice seeked are answered on time. General friendly, fast service! I placed an order yesterday (1 March) and today (2 March) I already have it in my hands - 1000km away!! Brilliant! If this level of service is anything to go by, Evobike definitely has me as their online shopper!!
  4. The biggest improvement to me is the new layout and categories, as well as the detail filtering that is now possible. Also the feature that shows if stock is at a remote warehouse and not at our warehouse. Obviously we are always dependent on supplier’s accurate stock-levels but this is a step in the right direction. Naas Kruger - Founder & CEO of Evobikes Visibility of stock location & lead times Stock will now be shown at either a remote warehouse (3 to 5 day lead-time) or in-stock at the Durbanville warehouse.Evobikes have asked customers to bear with them as they continually improve the accuracy of local warehouse stock-levels. Also noting that they are first and foremost an online cycling store, suggesting customers purchase online rather than in store. Expanded category breakdownThe new site now has a wider category breakdown in the various disciplines (road/gravel/mtb), each with their own component breakdown. For example, if you’re looking for brake pads, you can now search by discipline instead of sifting through all the products lumped together. And much more... The updated site includes further improvements with automatic shipping calculations for bulky items, improved sorting and filtering, wishlisting, more payment options like Zapper and InstantEFT, and a dedicated ‘On Sale’ page for the bargain hunters. The Evobikes team have migrated all user accounts from the old site so login shouldn't be a problem. However, they have noted that as with any large scale export and import of data, there are some pricing and stock issues on the new website that should be sorted by the end of this month. I am in the market for some wheels and heard allot of good things about the Novatec hubs, but don't know how this wheel performs. I buy most of my gear from EvoBikes so recommend most of their products, but don't have any knowledge about these wheels. Any info regarding them would really be appreciated. They also on special at the moment for a really good price so was just wondering. Thanks!
