  1. Hi all! I have had my Manitou Markhor 100mm fork for about 2years now. Serviced the fork at my LBS after 2000km on it. They just cleaned everything out and put new oil in. I have noticed some play on the dustseals. Is that normal or would that need to be replaced? Headset bearings feel fine and front caliper and wheel is tightened. Also not the brake pads. Have any of you had the same problem? What would the fix be?Forks came on my Merida Big Nine 500 2019
  2. I am in the market for a new trail (all-rounder) bike. I used to ride an xc bike so looking for something a bit more capable in the rough stuff. https://bike-addict.co.za/collections/mtb/products/silverback-slider-lt-2-2018 The bike I'm looking at is a Silverback Slider Lt2. I'm just worried about the Manitou Magnum fork on the front and the x-fusion shock at the rear. I have no knowledge about these components. Are they capable and will they easily be serviceable? Also what other bikes can you recommend I look at? Budget ceiling is at around R27k, but the sweet spot will be around R22k. I don't mind looking second-hand, but new comes with a warranty. I ride a medium sized bike.
  3. Hey guys, Looking for Manitou M-Prep and Semi Bath oil. Any idea where I can find? Or alternatively - the best substitutions for my Mattoc? Andrew (Stoke) maybe chime in here?! Thanks

  5. Six of the bicycle industry’s main suspension manufacturers announced today that, beginning with model year 2017 bicycles, consumers will see several new shock lengths and fitment options. Click here to view the article
  6. Riding a GT Zaskar 29er, and running a Manitou Tower Pro fork with 20mm both thru axle. Here's the problem: Fork is very spongy....and isn't very stiff when in the "lockout" position. Apparently this fork doesn't lockout completely, that being said, its still too soft and causes a bit of a nose dive when opened even further. Had an OTB on Tokai the other day while descending a drop off. I've managed to work around the softness for a while now, but the OTB was the last straw. How do I set this fork up to be stiffer? Can I do it myself? Will a RockShock pump work on this fork? (I haven't seen a Manitou pump anywhere) Is it just a matter of pumping up the air side, or are there other settings that need to done? Help will be appreciated.
  7. Those of you with marzocchi components know that getting it serviced is not easy to do in South Africa. Since my folks are visiting family in Sydney I figured its a good idea to have Australian agents send my dad a seal kit for my 66 to bring home. Whilst googling I stumbled accross a few companies who manufacture compatable seal kits for all the big names in mountain bike suspension. Particularly Racing Bros, Enduro and SKF. They dont strike me as chinese specials either. I've also noticed that many bike stores in the states, uk and australia use these products regularly when servicing forks etc. Instead of the kits supplied by suspension manufacturers themselves. My question is if any SA based LBS might be using any of these. Maybe even without us knowing? or are we hellbent on original parts only? Read up long enough and you'll notice that some of these guys are using these kits exclusively for years. Many reviews mention the improvements made to seal kits over their original counterparts. There are also many user based raves about the products aswell. It is a mixed bag though. Not everyone is happy. But some people are also complaining about original parts too. So, any experience? Thoughts? http://www.enduroforkseals.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/end_on_pike.jpghttp://probikes.cl/wp-content/uploads/2012/05/Enduro-Seals-01.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/ilPvcPI.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/GvGG8wl.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/dTtOHaB.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/LJ3vy2G.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/IilVCAu.jpg
  8. I'm looking to upgrade the fork on my Spez Camber, which comes standard with 110mm travel. However, aftermarket forks aren't available in 110mm travel - so I've got the option of either the 100mm RS Reba or the 120mm Manitou Marvel Comp. They both are in the same price class, with similar tech. Any suggestions? I can either increase or decrease my current travel by 10mm, depending on the two forks.
