    Good afternoon Track Hubbers! Hope eevryone is getting the rain we so badly need. I'm heading down to CPT over xmas and would like to get in as much riding as I can before getting in trouble with the extended family. I've cycled around our local Hector Norris, cycled around the track in KZN, now it's the turn of WP. But to my surprise they have a velodrome nogal! So can anyone tell me if you can just walk in and use the facility, or do you have to book? Is there a fee involved per hour or something? Thanks!

    Hi I was recently introduced to track cycling at Hector Norris park through VWE cycling academy Where you hire a bike on a month to month basis and you get a group class every week and racing on sat. I am surprised at how much I enjoy it, it differs from the road and even more mtb, but I love it. Especially now as the amount of road races are very limited. I am actually considering getting a track bike, the problem is where, these things seems to be vary rare? Anybody know where you can get track bike/frame in the gauteng area? Also where are all the velodromes in gauteng? I obviously know about hector norris park, but I heard there was/is on in krugersdorp? Anybody know exactly where and what condition it is in? I also heard they where planning to build one in potch, did this ever happen?

    Does anyone have any information regarding the history of the old banked concrete cycling track outside of Secunda/Evander? It's just north of Embalenhle inside the Osizweni development centre (I'm guessing it belongs to Sasol). It's still in fairly good condition, and if you get rid of the weeds and grass and maybe patch the concrete in a few places I'm sure it would be usable again

    Hi hubbers I was recently introduced to track riding and I'm busy deciding if I want to get myself a track bike. The other day I started searching around for track bikes and frames available in SA. Didn't take me long to realize that their are hardly any distributors for track bikes or frames in SA. Can any one please point me in the right direction on where to buy locally. Ive looked through the classifieds and didn't really see something my size. Also is there a major difference between carbon and aluminum track frames? Thanks guys

    Hi Guys I really need some help.... I am trying to build a track tandem similar to the one I raced at the Beijing Paralympics and I am in desperate need of a chainring1/8 track chain that fits on a regular 9 speed ultegra crank. Im looking for a 51 or 53 but for now anything will be a great help. We used them when I raced before but after a few years they seem to have disapeared. If you can assist me that would be sucha great help Gavin
