  1. ON AVERAGE, WHAT DO YOU SPEND ON: Cycling Jersey Bib short Im doing some market research on cycling apparel, the reason for this is, I love riding with nice fitting & high quality gear, but these do come at a price. I just received a order from a major brand and to be honest, it was disappointing because i paid a premium for this item and expected great quality from them, so i want to see if there is a price range that my fellow cyclists are willing to pay for epic quality, a realistic price point. Im on a mission to see if a solution is possible to make great quality gear accessible to most riders.
  2. Hi all, So I had an idea and I just wanted to run it by my fellow Hubbers to see your thoughts. Here it goes I am quite active on the marketplace, looking for nice little upgrades for my bike as well as selling off any items I don't use anymore. I've noticed that I tend to look for more local listings as the whole process of the sale is easier and the chance of getting scammed goes down significantly. I know that the Hub is a lot safer than other online sites with a rating system in place but there is always that element of doubt with unrated sellers, especially with a sport as expensive as cycling So I thought, there must be some sort of service that can protect us in the case of an inter-provincial sale.. Turns out there isn't much. I have heard of a "vault" on Gumtree that holds the money while the product is being shipped, but to my knowledge there isn't something like this on the Hub. Anyway so considering I am still a student and that my riding doesn't take up all my free time, I figured why not do the run around for people wanting to buy cycling related products in Cape Town. I would essentially meet up with the seller, check that the product is as described in the listing, accompany them to the postal service and just make sure that the item is posted to the buyer. I tend to get overexcited with new projects so I have already uploaded an advert in classifieds under - "entries and services" - "other". The fee would be mostly for petrol with a little bit added to help maintain my cheeky "I think my bike deserves an upgrade" lifestyle Let me know your thoughts or if you have any advice. Thanks a million
