  1. All of the top 5 stories are admirable in their own right! What sets us apart or why vote for us..... We cycled the farthest distance. We endured for the longest period of time with no sponsors or on the ground support. We encountered countless set backs (physically, mentally and mechanically) however we chose to leave that out of our story as there are many people out there suffering or dealing with more than us. It is the sheer magnitude of our adventure that we CONQUERED AS ONE, through a love of cycling and making a difference. We are strong and healthy cyclists. We hope to use our entry, should we win it, to raise funds once again for our charity, HOKISA. Please vote here for my brother Cecil Bosman .... http://www.bicycling.co.za/sponsored/vote-favourite-absa-conquerasone-finalist/
  2. Hi guys, Just to let you all know that the nominations process has come to an end, and once all was counted, there were 9 nomination e-mails, resulting in 9 lucky individuals who were nominated to the TokaiMTB committee for the year of 2015. Notices will be going out to those nominated, and they will need to indicate whether they are prepared to run for a position on the TokaiMTB committee. The cut-off for this process is 6th February. Once that process has been completed, and the final shortlist has been compiled, a list of the Nominees will be posted here, and on the Tokai Trail Builders Association and Tokai MTB Facebook page. Please remember that in order to vote for your preferred committee member to be in the Committee, you need to be present at the AGM, which is being held on 18th February at the River Club in Observatory @ 17h30. In order for a Nominee to be eligible for a position on the Committee, they too need to be there for the AGM. Remember - NO proxy votes allowed. You MUST be there to vote. On the evening, each Nominee will get an opportunity to tell us a little bit about themselves and why they believe they will be a good fit for the committee. You will then be given a small form with 5 blank spaces, where you will indicate your chosen committee members. Portfolios will not be assigned at the AGM, these will be decided by the committee itself when it meets for the first time following the AGM. Thanks all for your participation, and I expect to see you at the River Club on the 18th to vote for your committee members. Myles Mayhew
  3. Another month down and time again to vote for the winner in our GoPro Photo of the Day competition. We've changed things up after the fake vote issues experienced last month. The intention was always for the competition to be community driven and in this spirit the final selection should rest with the community. However, instead of voting from the full month's images, an initial voting panel has narrowed it down to 5 finalists. And to simplify things you now choose just 1 image - your favorite - instead of the top 3 as before. Voting This time around it's simple. Just vote for your favourite image in the poll above. Note: If you choose to view the results of the poll before casting a vote you lose your vote. The winner will be based on the image with the most votes and will take home the GoPro Hero 3+ Silver Edition. In the event of a tie, a tie-breaker vote will be setup. Cast your vote and keep submitting your photos for June! Voting will close at 12h00 14h00 on Friday, 4 July 2014. (Extended due to site downtime on Friday morning) The finalists: 11 June 2014: Sunday SpruitBy Dorpie 13 June 2014: Jolanda Neff going for the winBy Peach. 25 June 2014: Epic Dust StormBy Dubber 26 June 2014: eselfontein photoshoot failBy muis man 27 June 2014: Whip itBy stokerG
