Hey guys.

Ordered a few things from CRC last week and today the status on the site says"Addressee advised to collect from depot" Does this mean I have to go to the mailing centre at the airport or does it always show up like that on the Parcel force web site?

I should of just paid the flipping extra R50 for DHL to send it,always a problem with SAPO.

Hmm, never happened to me or my mates orders. I take it you did supply a physical addy, and that the SAPO do normal mail to that area ( some suburbs they only do PO Boxes, which puts you in a dilemna- dilemma- quandary)?

BTW- its not just R50 extra for DHL, they rush you an extra R100 admin / clearance fee for handling customs and VAT on your behalf, payable to the man in the van before he hands over.

Good luck anyways & keep us posted - always good to know if new trends are about to occur with the wonderful world of CRC

Got a pair of oakley radar's sent to me vie USPS express dropped off at my house by SAPO about 2 weeks ago so they definitely do to the door in my area but this time I took to my P.O.BOX because of not being at home.

I have had to go to the mailing center before to pick up imports, mostly because the importer didn't fill out the customs sheet properly or didn't supply the right paper work, but if it normally goes through without a problem CRC should of done it correctly.

Having to drive all the way to the airport will be much more of a cost than R75 more for clearing,at least they actually do the clearing and you don't have to run around with a bunch of people who don't actually know what's going on....

End rant :) I will keep you updated, will call SAPO tomoz and try convince them to tell me what they know :D

Your use of the PO box seems to be the issue, they need to be able to drop it with a live person so they can collect their VAT's duties etc.

I use my work addy, as I can always delegate someone to pay even if I am not there.

Good luck in establishing if the Depot is your local one, or JIMC. The JIMC secret fax line is 086 688 4139, twice now I have just faxed through instructions (with all the back-up docs attached)and lo and behold the stuff actually happens like magic.

I always use my P.O. Box address. They just leave a slip in your PO Box telling you how much you have to pay, and you collect and pay for your parcel at the counter. Never had a single problem with any of my 19 orders so far.

I live & learn. But I do like the idea of making them do the hard work for me if possible. I also like the fact that someone else apart from me supports the entire Irish economy with so many orders !

False alarm :) It was at my local post office, they must classify the post office at the depot.I went to my postbox and got my slip and then got my goods from the counter :)
