garmin forerunner 310xt setup

can someone help please:

 

i run ubuntu and also a win7 VM on my box. i installed the training centre with ANT on the win7 VM. how can i add my device so that the vm picks up the ant stick??

 

on the VM under devices -> USB Devices i checked Dynastream Innovations ANT USBStick2

 

what else needs to be set?
