"The lead prosecutor in the trial of a pig farmer accused of being Canada's worst serial killer asked jurors Thursday to use "common sense" in taking into account the remains of six women found at his pig farm.
Prosecutor Mike Petrie said in his closing argument that the evidence clearly points to Robert Pickton, who went on trial last last January on the first six of 26 first-degree murder charges filed against him. Most of the women were prostitutes and drug addicts from a seedy Vancouver neighborhood.
"Let's have a reality check here," he said. "This case is about the police finding the remains of six dead human beings essentially in the accused's backyard."
