Saturday 29 October 2011 sees the hosting of the third DELTA DASH Mountain Bike Cycle Challenge and Delta Park School is proud to once again be the host of this event.

Delta ParkSchool for learners with learning disabilities relies on fundraising to provide our children with the best possible education and the Delta Dash is one of our major annual fundraising events.

The road cycle challenge“Race for Victory”, hosted by our sister school Francis Forweg, has become a National event and we plan to do the same with the DELTA DASH!

We invite you to become part of this event and ensure that we provide the best possible education for our 530 learners from grade one to grade twelve who have been diagnosed with a minimal brain dysfunction in the form of severe learning difficulties such as reading and writing problems, dyslexia, tourettes, aspergers, and emotional challenges.

These learners are academically able to pass the mainstream grade 12 examination and receive university acceptance and we are proud of being awarded a trophy for one of the top ten schools in the District.

Despite our successes we experience a growing dire need for funding to provide for our learners’ special needs through additional specialist teachers, assistive devices and specialized teaching aids.

In keeping with our culture of giving the best to our learners and stakeholders we have again teamed up with the Rockhoppers Mountain Bike Club. We are fortunate and grateful to once again have the expertise of Mr Richard Durrantof Rockhoppers, the President Commissaire / Chief Referee for the South African Mountain bike Commission. The SA Mountainbike Commission is an affiliate of Cycling South Africa, the controlling body of cycling in the country. Rockhoppers’ involvement guarantees a professional race with professional time keeping.

On-line entries are catered for via Entry Time and the DELTA DASH will also be featured on their events calendar. Our event will be included in all their newsletters distributed to approximately 105 000 subscribers as well as enjoying exposure on their website which receives an average of 1 235 000 hits per month. Advertisements will also be placed in the area newspapers. (Caxton printed newspapers)

The race will take the form of a six-hour-endurance team race but with multiple categories and medals and prizes will be awarded for all categories.

Please PM me if you, your company or you know of someone who can help us with: Medals, Water bottels, T-Shirts and printing, and a anouncer.

Thank you.

Pieter
