Another missive from CSA. They're calling for nominations for various board positions.

Nominations close tomorrow at 12:00. I don't really think 15 hours is sufficient notice for something like this, but if you have nominations, get in touch with your club.

http://csams.cyclingsa.com/media/8111/top.jpgDear Edward Carman,

Following Cycling South Africa’s meeting with SASCOC at the weekend, the planned Annual Congress scheduled for Saturday 19 November will be postponed to February 2012 giving CyclingSA the opportunity to present its audited financial statements and to operate under the new constitution.

CyclingSA’s meeting on 19 November will therefore become the President’s Council Meeting with various commission workshops. The vacant Board and commission member posts will be filled at these meetings.

All our members please note: please be aware that you need to make sure that your club votes for the best person for the vacant positions!

The following vacant positions on the different commissions and Board of CyclingSA are:

a) Financial Trustee

b ) Road Commission Director

c) Road Commissioner (1)

d) Mountain Bike Commissioners (1)

e) Recreational Commissioners (3)

f) Coaching Commissioner (1)

Please be so kind as to forward these nominations to your club. Please ensure that all nominations reach your club by 12:00 on Thursday 17 November. These nominations will then be sent to the Board for final decisions and appointments.

And the nominations have to be sent through your club!

Can't imagine that is in line with the constitution that you have less than 48hrs to comply.

Am I missing something? Seems to me that even if you did manage to nominate someone for one of these board positions it would then be up to the board to actually decide on the successful candidate. Just seems to be a very closed shop if "the board" did not want any new blood.
