Nige,

How many sections do they want you to resurface, because you would struggle to get a better value material than a G6. You could stabalise the insitu material with cement or lime but its all very labour intensive.

If they do this to all the world cup tracks then Danny Harts wet run will go down as legendary. Having riden cascades this year it would be a shame to make it into a bmx track !

The main sections they want surfaced on the DH is the two dead flat sections on the N3 and "The Bombhole" at the end of the pedal. BUT i'm looking at using the material i have available to change the section with the three ski-jumps in the middle of the pedal in this ...

Im keepin git a pedal-fest but also just going to remove a couple of the roots that destroy your momentum.

90% of the surfacing is for the XC (especially some of the uphills) and also for the Arena Area ... thats why using G6 to cover the ENTIRE Spectator Arena at the finish was just INSANE

I know for a fact that the only other tracks that use crusher base are Fort Bill (as that is built on a Marsh) and then Leogang on their pedal section! ... Its just to make the flats faster that you dont bog down...

Everything elso will remain a slush-fest if it rains! Which will make the track really hard to ride - AWESOME

Kumba mine in Kathu also use stuff they put down on the dirt roads try them

Guys, the stuff used at the mines is made by a company called Dust-A-Side based in Pta with offices all over the country. Not sure if it's a bitumen or whatever goes into the concoction, but if it's good enough for the mines it should work for a track.

Find them online at http://www.dustaside.com

Good luck!
