Trans Karoo training ride - Groot Marico area

Hi all,

 

I'm planning a 100km gravel road training ride at the end of the month in prep for the TransKaroo

 

Proposed date is 28 January and the idea is for a drop off and a 100km return ride to Groot Marico following a valley in which the marico river runs.

 

For the Sunday morning there is apparently a nice 20km loop around the dam.

 

I know a few locals there, so will also look for accommodation deals for those interested.

Stay with Jacques at Riverstill.

Ride out on Koedoes fontein rd, to highway then Bokkraal road and loop around and either come back into town earlier or take the road past Buddist retreat, back to town and then end at Riverstill.

I ride in the area fairly often, plenty of longdistance gravel options.
