Yeah, not easy spending so much money on something you haven't physically seen. What size bike do you ride? I saw a carbon anthem on sale at cwc the other day: http://www.cwcycles.co.za/product/giant-anthem-x-advance-0-frameset

 

Yeah, don't really feel like a carbon rig...just don't feel as confident coming off one, which I do regularly

I am a huge fan of the Santa Cruz Heckler(trail bike) and Superlight(XC) because of the simplicity in the design.

 

I only own a trail bike, but if I had to get a full suspension XC bike I would get one of the above three.

 

Edit: I see your budget is R10k, maybe you can twist a dealer's arm to get you a SC Superlitght for R10k?
