Bushveld MTB at it's best!

The marathon (65km) riders are in for a real treat! The climbs are tough (over 1000m) and the ride is challenging, but the experience will be worth the effort. The route starts out alongside the Crocodile River in a magnificent bushveld setting. It meanders along the river on game and jeep track for about 20km, with small steep climbs and a few technical flurries. After another steady but gentle climb, in the reserve, its time to conquer the big climb of the day. Once up you will be rewarded with unforgettable views over the bushveld and a 6km ride on the 'dragons back” before a magical descent back to the valley floor. This is followed by some awesome game singletrack, a water stop (time to gain your strength) before a contour climb, and the final 'rip' all the way back down to the river and finish. This is one of those rare rides that you will talk about for years to come, or return to undertake the challenge next time round.... It’s a must-do for the ambitious or better skilled riders. (It’s not for beginners).

The half marathon (35km) has been planned as a fast, truly exhilarating, bushveld race. There are limited climbs and less technical terrain than on the marathon, and it is suitable for both the speedsters and the average weekend mountain-biker. It is designed to be fun but still challenging. The bushveld track is pristine so look out for game - This is Bushveld Trail Riding at its best!!

The 12km fun-ride comprises of two loops around the koppie. This is planned to allow the option of ending after 1 lap (6km) - for those new to the sport and for adults accompanying small children - or continuing on for the full 12km (2 laps). The route is relatively flat but also includes a small climb and a rocky section. Overall this is a fun ride for the youngsters (and for the not so young) who just want to enjoy time in the saddle.
