This is specifically addressed to the organisers of the Northerns Quickie, as well as Central Gauteng Cycling (I think Terrence lurks on here...)

The race has been listed as a MTB seeding event by SASeeding. They insist that the organisers of the event must send the data through to them so they can use it.

Now... The telephone number on the downloaded CyclingSA calendar is either not answered, or answered by somebody who pretends not to listen. (Just going "hello! hello!')

I've tried contacting CGC as well, however their number rings a few times and then disconnects the line.

Questions:

Who do we speak to w.r.t. the seeding status of events

Who takes responsibility for an event being (or not) a seeding event.

What liability is there if an event was listed by SAS as a seeding event, and it turns out not to be used as one?

Who owns the seeding process?

Can I get my entry fee back if an event was entered for seeding purposes, and its results are not used?

In short, who is responsible for cycling in Central Gauteng(Gauteng in future?), as it actually seems a bit shambolic at the moment!

SASeeding/CGC, will the same head aches be experienced for the Country Challenge results?

When I wanted to use my SAS board for the Northerns Quickie, I was told "No", but they will link my ID nr to my SAS seeding afterwards..

nothing yet...

Yep, seems like SAS friendly means temp boards (Northerns Quickie), and SAS Compatible means you can use your own permanent number board (Country Challenge)

I spoke to Carla on 28/29 March and she stated that they(SAS) are waiting for the organiser. Now the number on the CSA events calender seems to be just a random, incorrect number.

So where is the responsibility and what recourse do we have? The only reason I entered either event was to try a resuscitate my seeding (a 62 at the moment  ) before the Nissan Series.

If they are not going to use these events for seeding, I seriously want my money back!

Karma,

As race organiser for the Vori-Berg i submit the race results with ID number to SAS for seeding purposes.

I also use my own number boards, the reason for this is that i can then establish if all riders have returned.

So far we have not had any problems except for a youngster doing the 15 km and demanding his seeding be updated as he won. bad news for him is that it is only 30km and higher that benefit.

look forward to seeing you guys at Vori-berg soon
