Was originally sent to me by the Sani2c newsletter. This year it's 14-16 Sept through Kenya with a voluntary trip past the wildebeest migration afterwards.

 

"The Rift Valley Odyssey is Kenya’s premier GPS mountain bike race; crossing diverse scenery at high altitude between Limuru, Naivasha and the Mau Escarpment. The RVO traverses both eastern and western escarpments of the Great Rift Valley, riding challenging terrain from technical single-track forest trails, exhilarating descents, arduous ascents (peak altitude 2900m), pristine wilderness areas, open savannah teaming with wild game."

 

Anyone done it? What's not to like? Am very keen to register for it, will try drag a few mates along.

Update: I mailed them and pricing is approoooximately R1500 for the entry (give or take a few minor adjustments). They're working on getting flight discounts. Obviously have to buy/borrow/rent a Garmin, excellent opportunity to upgrade the bike.
