Older Shimano stuff

Is there anybody that can give me some advice on some of the older shimano stuff. I have a MTB that I purchased in 1992 and I have picked up a slight problem with the one STI lever. The groupset is a Shimano Exage 300 LX and I cannot find anything at all on the net - Shimano help desk included - I guess its too old?

Which lever - front or rear shifter? I have one side in a drawer somewhere I think - you can have it if it works for you.

 

But my suggestion is to convert it to singlespeed and ride it.

Shall I post a pic of the shifter so that we can establish if the one you have is the same as the one I have??

Your luck is holding so far - Mine is a front one - says Deore on it, and it is brand new - post a pic and lets see if it is similar.
