aaah! worthy cause... that's great to hear! We've got a "village bike" project going on up here in GP. I've donated some of my other spares to that, and it should be up and running pretty soon.

So what travel will this fork be running? The circa 2000's were 170/180mm weren't they? With your parts and the donated lowers can they be built up to run 200mm?

i donno ... i think the original is a 180mm i need to check ... but thats not really the issue as the current marzocchi's are only 150mm.

So a 180mm fork would probably be best. I think a 200mm will slacken the head angle too much.

But will wait and see when i build it up.

SO .... you have a bike to ride for the Ricos race then ... :whistling: ... Oh i checked the track that we will be using for the race and its really cool. The top will be slightly different from what you rode with me (your bank drop wont be in the new track) ... but there are 2 BIG jumps that you will just have to hit the chicken run around ... but otherwise the course is REALLY cool.

So no EXCUSES now!

I know of somebody coming down to DBN this weekend from Pretoria and if Patches can get the part to hime he might be able to bring it down... Waiting for confirmation.

I was chatting to my sister recently and she said how excited she was that the Top Gear festival was just around the corner...... on the 17th June......... which is when my ticket is booked for........... so that is my excuse for not being able to race Rico's :( (provided that the race is still on the 17th June. If not, you can count me in!!!!!!!)

shot for the offer of the lift for the lowers - but we will just mail it down ... its easier and gives Patches time to strip them down.

As for the top gear thing ... thats a POOR excuse :P ... hahaha ... **** so Top Gear is on the same weekend as Ricos... BUMMER!

Grebel, thanks for the offer, but as Nige says, I still need to strip the forks. So will mail them saturday. Shot again though! Glad they can get some mud on them, as opposed to dust in tha garage

I thought I had that bank dialled after I bought that small plot..... Jumping is all about commitment and not thinking about the consequences. Having said that though, if you are reffering to the road gap on the way up to the start of the track that we rode, I don't mind the term chicken run... :whistling:
