Nothing wrong with the Mercury 3 but I thought you were looking at a more relaxed 120mm trail bike like Trance and the 120D?

K so i looked about went to check out the Merida, its not bad.... but...

 

Next to it was my first choice, which i eliminated based on ... well nothing, the Silverback Mercury 3 , Fox float rear and Rock Shock Recon - Silver front, remote lock out ... looks about the best for the components and value for money.

 

Anyone got anything bad to mention about this bike ??

I have the Silverback Spectra 26" HT and Mercury 29 DS, good value in comparison to other brands.

 

The site mentions the fork as Recon Gold

For a hardtail, I'd reckon look into the Scott Scale over the Aspect. Similar Price. It is a lighter frame and is the same geometry as the top racing scales. Then if you decide to upgrade the components later you would already have a light frame to use.

 

Duel suss I'd look into the Merida. Giant's are very reliable.

 

But it all depends on what you want to do. Racing - Scale, heavy trails rather go for a duel suss.
