  1. I see this event is now registered on the Events page. I have heard there is a bike up for lucky draw at the end of the race. Met Hennie at the Monster, and says he has done Sani2C, Kalahari Challange, Tour de Tuli and many other races. He has found more single track for us to enjoy!!
  2. This is going to be an awesome ride. We did the inaugural race last year and the trails were fantastic. Something for everyone with lots and lots of single track for those offroad junkies!
  3. Just finished the Sani2c Trail. Awesome as usual. Next up the Magalies Monster. Then Konka MTB on 7 June and I cannot wait for the best single track ever on this new race!!

    EasyGis

Thank you Mathew from EasyGIS. My ONLINE order of a new Garmin 810 has arrived on time as promised - excellent price and great customer service. Will definetely order from EasyGIS again.
  5. Last year finish over floating bridge was lots of fun for the spectators to watch! Only one rider had a spectacular finish!
  6. Just done 35km of awesome riding on part of the 65km KONKA MTB race to be held on 7 June near Rustenburg (Only hour out of Joeys!) Second year of race and even better route! Lost of brilliant single track, cattle track and horse trails. Superb fun riding along "Penny Lane" in the riverine bush - very pretty. Some river crossings which will probably be dry and one nasty rocky jeep track climb- "Henno's Revenge" - which is rideable for those with good bike skills providing no-one stops in front of you! Race not to be missed coz you cannot ride the route otherwise.Trails even nicer than van Gaalens and that is saying something! Bring the family to the Konka Adventure centre - lots for them to do. I have just entered on Cycle Events. You won't be sorry and I guarantee you will be back with your friends next year too. Race designed by Hennie Fourie. Cannot wait for 7 June!
  7. Really looking forward to this new race - majority is single track along old horse trails and cattle paths and beautiful riverine bush tracks. Some jeep track with fantastic views. 60km takes you past the Brauhaus Amm Damm at Oliphantsnek dam near Rustenburg. Brilliant ride - try not to miss this one. Lots of fun for family and supporters at Konka Soul Adventure camp with obstacle course etc.See you there!

  9. as someone earlier said, the Silverback Storm 1 is one of the best value out there. Full XT, SID RL Shock 10.5 kg with Stan's Crest rims is a very good bike
  10. The Rims can be converted. Use the Stan's Rubber Rimstrip kit Put a thin layer of the yellow tape on the rim. then put this Rimstrip on the Rim. Much easier to seat a tyre.
  11. I've used Specialized Bibs for the past 4 years. I've been really happy with them. about R 900. Haven't been able to try others, as I've only cycled for 4 years, but IMHO Specialized are great value.
  12. Also look into KCNC components. You can lose quite a lot of weight by using their lightweight scandium components. However, If you can save a lot of weight on a set of wheels for less than R 10 000, go for it, because rotational weight makes a huge difference.
  13. They are similar weight. The XTR's are also made of Scandium Alloy - which is very strong. Personally, Keep the XTR's - they are very good, and I would say better than the SLR's

    Rugby...

Damn good prediction. Practically spot on. Well Done
  15. Specialized shoes are really impressive. Have a pair of Specialized Sport Mtb. Really happy with them. Not exactly sure on pricing for Specialized, but check them out
