YES! give that man a bells. or a hat to pass around in this case :)

Does it have to be a pta based charity? because I'd like to suggest the highveld horse care unit. the work they do lies close to my heart and I know they can use all the support they can get (http://www.horsecare.org.za/)

I was thinking more in the line of a childrens charity ,we can also change it every now and then it does not have to be the same charity every week.

I think a childrens charity is a fabulous idea... there are loads that are in dire need of assistance and what nicer way to end of a great cycle than by knowing some childs circumstances will benefit. Maybe those interested put forward suggestions, load them in a hat 2 weeks before the ride, you do a lucky draw and we arrange from there! Kudos for that suggestion. I am in! Looking forward to the next ride again - become a marked event on my calender and this time around - DEFINITE KUIER after!!

Great so at least 2 people think the charity is a good idea.judging from that we had better pick a small charity that the three of us can contribute to.

LMAO!! Its the thought that counts.... just give it time.Still early days till the next one. The seed has been planted. Maybe we should brainstorm this idea over a brandy or two :w00t: after the next ride.... and take it from there!!

Ok, 3 things:

One- the kids... As far as I could place things the kids at the front were there without their parents or part of a development thingy and whilst this is all good and well at the end of the day somebody has to take responsibility for them which is my opinion nobody was doing... Thoughts anybody? A couple of times we had them racing up to a red light in a sprint finish and well, that could easily end badly.

Two- I am so up for corking! I love the idea of raising awareness for bikes and this way we could make people laugh about it by putting on a good accident scene, so anybody keen on joining me let me know!

Three- The route.... Celebrate the city... If we are going to call this a true critical mass we have to do union buildings and church square! Yes these are in the middle of town but safety in numbers and we have to stick together. I also think the corking will help with keeping people at bay at robots...

Lasting- what a blast! Can't wait for the next one. Please let me know if there are any scouting rides for routes

Oh, and wrt to the charity, maybe to the development cyclists or something cycling related as that is what its all about...
